María is nine years old, lives in Guatemala. She shares her home with her mother Adela, father Jose, her two older sisters, Jessica and Ana, and her two older brothers, Walter and Edgar. Edgar’s wife, Flavia, and their son Joel also live in the house. Maya is ten years old. She lives in a rented house near a refugee camp in Lebanon with her mum, dad, older brother Farid and younger brother Nabil, older sister Amira and younger sister Reem. She helps her mother to cook and clean the dishes and rooms. Patricia is eight years old and is the youngest in her family. She lives in Uganda, with her mother, Evelyn, sister flavia and brothers Ivan and Roni. Her other sister Barbara is away at boarding school and comes home during the holidays. Patricia’s father died from an illness in 2011. Patricia’s family lives on an area of land with two traditional huts. One hut is used for cooking and sleeping. The other hut is for storage. The roof is thatched with spear grass. It needs to be changed every three years. NOTICES On behalf of myself Cyril and my two children Riyana and Riyon, I would like to express our sincere thanks for your kindness, generosity and support throughout our difficult time. Thank you to all who baked cakes etc and helped out at the coffee morning. It is very much appreciated. It is our blessing to be part of the lovely Patrickswell and Clarina community. POP-UP-SHOP: The Community Council is running a Pop-Up-Shop in John Leddin’s premises on Friday and Saturday April 5 and 6 and organisers are looking for donations of items to sell. Bric- a-Brac but no clothes, jewellery, books, toys in good order, unwanted gift items and home baking would be greatly appreciated. There will also be teas and a raffle. Any items can be taken to the Resource House and more details are available on 061- 320303. Raheen Church - Series of Talks at Sunday Masses during Lent 2019. 4th Sunday “The Mystery of Gods Glory” Karen Fahy from Trócaire will speak on the theme of Good and Evil in the world and how the work of Trócaire helps to build a more just world. Offertory Collection Last Weekend: 1578.65. Emigrants Collection: €931.35. INTERESTED IN LEARNING HOW TO READ THE BIBLE?? Basic class on how to read the Bible will be held in Prayer Room in Patrickswell Church beginning on Wednesday 20 th March for 8 weeks from 7.30 to 9pm. If interested ring Parish Office or contact Sacristans or ring Bernadette O’Connell at 087 9536794. The Annunciation: Have you ever wondered how Mary felt when she first saw the Angel? How did she react to the Angel’s message? Dr. Nora Donnelly looks at these questions through presenting works of Art depicting the Annunciation by a number of painters in order to arrive at a deeper understanding of this wonderful event, on Tuesday March 26 th at 7.30pm, venue Prayer Room in Patrickswell Church. All welcome. MORNING PRAYER AT ST. JOHN PAUL II ORATORY: All those wishing to enter more intensively in prayer this Lent invited to weekday morning prayers at 9:30am (Mon-Fri) in the Crescent Shopping Centre Oratory. Chanted Psalms of the Lauds - Office of Readings - Time for Silent Prayer Rush Hour: On Friday, March 29th from 5-7pm the Augustinian Church will be hosting 'Rush Hour' a time of prayer and Adoration (as well as opportunity for Confessions). Trócaire 2019
