WELCOME Father Geoff AVE MARIA Justin Peters & Veronica Ryan EULOGY Androo Allen PHOTO MEMORIAL TRIBUTE Fly Me To The Moon – Frank Sinatra New York, New York – Frank Sinatra ENTRANCE HYMN Here I Am Lord (please stand) Text: Isaiah 6; Dan Schutte, b1947 Tune: Dan Schutte. b 1947; arr. By Michael Pope, SJ, John Weissrock © 1981, Daniel L. Schutte and New Dawn Music.

I, the Lord of sea and sky, I have heard my people cry. All who dwell in dark and sin, my hand will save. I, who made the stars of night, I will make their darkness bright. Who will bear my light to them? Whom shall I send? Refrain: Here I am Lord, is it I Lord?

I have heard you calling in the night. I will go Lord, if you lead me. I will hold your people in my heart.

I, the Lord of snow and rain, I have borne my people’s pain. I have wept for love of them, they turn away. I will break their hearts of stone; give them hearts for love alone. I will speak my word to them. Whom shall I send? Refrain I, the Lord of wind and flame, I will tend the poor and lame. I will set a feast for them. My hand will save. Finest bread I will provide, ’til their hearts be satisfied. I will give my life to them, whom shall I send? Refrain

LITURGY OF THE WORD FIRST READING (Isaiah 25:6-9 - Psalm 22) Paul Girolami A Reading from the Book of Isaiah On this mountain, the Lord of hosts will prepare for all the peoples a banquet of rich food. On this mountain he will remove the mourning veil covering all peoples, and the shroud enwrapping all nations; he will destroy death forever. The Lord God will wipe away the tears from every cheek; he will take away his people’s shame everywhere on earth, for the Lord has said so. That day, it will be said: See, this is our God in whom we hoped for salvation; the Lord is the one in whom we hoped. We exalt and we rejoice that he has saved us. The Word of the Lord. ALL – Thanks be to God.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM (sung) The Lord is My Shepherd TIS: 659; Words: Psalm 23 Music: Brian Boniwell © 1949 Arr: Kevin Hunt

The Lord is my shepherd, and I want to follow, Wherever He leads me, wherever He goes. Over the mountains, the waters and byways. Valleys and highways, He’s waiting for me. Refrain: I want to go to meet Him there, To lay myself down in His love. The Lord is my shepherd, and I want to follow, Wherever He leads me, wherever He goes. And while on the journey, to where we are going, He promised to be there to help us along. And over the mountains, we’ll walk on together, To know all the wonders He’s given to me. Refrain SECOND READING (St Paul to the Philippians 3:20-21) Paul Girolami A reading from the letter of St Paul to the Philippians For us, our homeland is in heaven, and from heaven comes the saviour we are waiting for, the lord Jesus Christ, and he will transfigure these wretched bodies of ours into copies of his glorious body. He will do that by the same power with which he can subdue the whole universe. The word of the Lord ALL – Thanks be to God.

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION (sung) ALL – Alleluia, alleluia I am the resurrection and the life

says the Lord: Whoever believes in me will not die for ever. Alleluia.

GOSPEL (John 14: 1-6) FR Geoff – The Lord be with you. ALL – And with your spirit. FR Geoff – A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John. ALL – Glory to you, O Lord. Jesus said to his disciples: “Do not let your hearts be troubled; trust in God still, and trust in me. There are many rooms in my Father’s house; if there were not, I should have told you. I am going now to prepare a place for you, and after I have gone and prepared you a place, I shall return to take you with me; so that where I am, you may be too. You know the way to the place where I am going.” Thomas said: “Lord, we do not know where you are going, so how can we know the way?” Jesus said: “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” The Gospel of the Lord. ALL – Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ. (please be seated) HOMILY

By Sebastian Temple, b.1928, © 1967, OCP Publications Tune: Sebastian Temple, b.1928, © 1967, OCP Publications; acc. By Jane Wood, b.1954, © 1995 Dedicated to Mrs Frances Tracy. Reprinted with permission.

Make me a channel of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me bring your love, Where there is injury, your pardon, Lord And where there's doubt, true faith in you. Make me a channel of your peace. Where there's despair in life, let me bring hope, Where there is darkness, only light And where there's sadness ever joy. Oh, Master, grant that I may never seek So much to be consoled as to console, To be understood as to understand, To be loved as to love with all my soul. Make me a channel of your peace. It is in pardoning that we are pardoned, In giving to all men that we receive, And in dying that we're born to eternal life.

The bread that I will give Is My flesh for the life of the world, And he who eats of this bread, He shall live forever, He shall live forever. PRAYER AFTER COMMUNION FR Geoff – Lord God, whose Son left us, in the sacrament of His

body, food for the journey, mercifully grant that, strengthened by it, our brother Ron may come to the eternal table of Christ. Who lives and reigns forever and ever.

ALL – Amen FINAL FAREWELL FR Geoff – Into Your hands, Father of Mercies, we commend our

brother Ron, in the sure and certain hope that, together with all who have died in Christ, he will rise with Him on the last day. Merciful Lord, turn to us and listen to our prayers: open the gates of paradise to Your servant and help us who remain to comfort one another with the assurances of faith, until we all meet in Christ and are with you and with our brother forever. We ask this through Christ our Lord.

ALL – Amen HOLY WATER AND INCENSE FR Geoff – When Ron was baptised, he was baptised into the death

of Christ. The Father has raised the Lord Jesus from the dead and we too have been raised in him to live a new life for God.

Through baptism, we have shared in the death of Jesus in order that we may also share in his resurrection. In memory of our baptism, we used holy water to asperges the coffin and call on the Lord Jesus to welcome Ron into the glory of eternal life.

Page 17: Mass book Male English

As a sign of respect for our brother Ron, we let this incense rise to God who has called him to share in his glory.

Saints of God, come to his aid. Come to meet him, angels of the Lord.

ALL – Receive his soul and present him to God the Most

High. FR Geoff – May Christ who called you, take him to himself. Many

angels lead you to Abraham’s side. ALL – Receive his soul and present him to God the Most

High. FR Geoff – Give Ron eternal rest, O Lord and may your light shine

on him forever. ALL – Receive his soul and present him to God the Most

High. FR Geoff – Into your hands, Father of mercies, we commend our

brother Ron in the sure and certain hope that together with all who have died in Christ, he will rise with him on the last day.

We give you thanks for the blessings which you bestowed upon Ron in this life; they are signs to us of your goodness and of our fellowship with the saints in Christ.

Merciful Lord, turn toward us and listen to our prayers: open the gates of paradise to your servant and help us who remain to comfort each other with assurances of faith, until we all meet in Christ and are with you and with our brother Ron forever. We make this prayer through Christ our Lord.

Page 18: Mass book Male English

ALL – Amen. FR Geoff – In peace let us take our brother Ron to his place of rest. RECESSIONAL HYMN Amazing Grace Sung by Justin Peters Amazing grace, how sweet the sound, That saved a wretch; like me! I once was lost, but now am found, Was blind, but now I see. ’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, And grace my fears relieved; How precious did that grace appear The hour I first believed! The Lord hath promised good to me, His word my hope secures; He will my shield and portion be As long as life endures
