Products BremFix Pure EpoxyCompany Profile Helping to build Australia since 1965

Proudly Australian, Proudly Family Owned Bremick was founded by Michael Hawksford in 1965 in a small warehouse in Alexandria, Sydney. Now our five divisions wholesale products to the Industrial, Building, Construction, Petrochemical and Retail Trade markets. Our company has 14 distribution centres including 4 manufacturing locations in Australia, New Zealand and Asia.

Today, the vast majority of Australia’s skyscrapers, bridges, major mining and critical infrastructure projects have been constructed using our products.

Whilst Bremick has grown to be the largest Wholesaler and Manufacturer of fasteners in Australia and New Zealand, with the broadest range, we don’t take our customer relationships for granted nor do we forget our down to earth beginnings. In each of our product divisions, we know we need to continuously strive to improve and reinvent our products.

To this day, Bremick is proudly Australian-owned by the Hawksford family and continues to be managed by Michael, together with his son and daughter, and our growing team of expert and experienced staff.

Our products are used in more critical applications than those of any other fastener supplier in Australia. People’s lives depend on the quality of our products.

Structural Fasteners Purlin Bolts

The Bremick range of Purlin Bolts and Nuts are suitable for any steel Purlin application and are used for attaching steel purlins to steel frames in buildings. Bremick offer a number of different head types including the following:

Standard Hex Head Bolt, Nut and 2 washersThese Mild Steel assemblies are the most economical solution for attaching steel purlins to steel frame buildings and sheds.

Flanged Hex Bolt and Flanged Hex NutThese integrated washer Hex Head Bolts and Nuts provide a much easier and faster method of attaching steel purlins to steel frame buildings and sheds. With the specially designed Flanged Head, these assemblies save time and money.

Fascia Bolt, Nut and Washer These Fascia assemblies are ideal for use where a low profile head is required. The unique low profile head design features a large bearing surface thus removing the need for a washer under the head and ensuring a low profile result.High Tensile Hex Head Bolt, Nut and 2 WashersThese High Tensile Purlin assemblies offer much higher strength but maintain the convenience of an assembly to provide an economical solution for attaching steel purlins to steel frame sheds and buildings.

All ranges are available in Electroplated Zinc Finish for internal use, and also Hot Dip Galvanised finish for external use.

Structural Fasteners Structural Assemblies

Bremick manufactures a full range of Structural Assemblies, all of which fully comply to AS 1252 for use in structural steel work. Each assembly consists of bolt, nut and hardened washer.

Nail-In Anchors Nylon Nail-In & Nylon Nail-In Heavy Duty Anchors

Bremick Nylon Nail-In Anchors are friction type anchors that provide a highly economical fastening solution for light duty fastening needs. Nail-in anchors consist of a hollow nylon sleeve with longitudinal expansion slots pre assembled with a tapered serrated drive pin. The pin is driven into the sleeve and a friction grip is developed against the wall of the hole by the resulting anchor expansion.

Bremick Heavy Duty Nylon Anchors are high performance friction type anchors that provide a highly economical fastening solution for light duty fastening needs. Heavy duty nylon anchors consist of a hollow nylon sleeve with longitudinal expansion slots pre assembled with a tapered serrated drive pin. The pin is driven into the sleeve and a friction grip is developed against the wall of the hole by the resulting anchor expansion.

Heavy Duty Anchors Kew® Universal Frame Anchors

KEW® Universal Frame Anchors are specifically designed for the fixing of timber frames to concrete, masonry and aerated blocks. KEW® Frame Anchors consist of an engineered nylon sleeve with longitudinal expansion slots, radial grooving for high grip, extended expansion area and integral anti rotation lugs which is pre assembled with a heavy duty 7mm diameter screw. Expansion is created by driving the tapered screw into the sleeve resulting in the generation of controlled expansion forces across the full length of the sleeve and the base material.

KEW® Universal Frame Anchors are available zinc plated, galvanised or 316 Stainless steel with either Hexagonal or Torx drive Countersunk Heads for use where a flush finish is required. KEW® Frame Anchors are engineered and manufactured by KEW® GmbH Germany and are exclusively available from Bremick Fasteners.

Structural Load Indicating Washers are designed for use with Bremick high strength structural bolts and provide a simple and accurate aid to tightening and inspection. The washers provide a direct indication of correct installed bolt tension which complies with AS4100.

The Load Indicating Washers are special hardened washers carrying 4 to 7 protrusions, depending on bolt diameter and these are assembled with the protrusions bearing against the underside of the bolt head, leaving a gap. The nut is then tightened until the protrusions are flattened and the gap reduced to that shown in Table 1. Note that the bolt head must remain stationary during tightening.

Conforms to • AS 4100 Australian Standard “Steel Structures” • AS 5100 Australian Standard “Bridge Construction” • NZS 3404 New Zealand Standard “Steel Structures Standard” • ASTM F 959M & BS 7644 Part 1

Quality & Compliance Certification & Traceability

To facilitate total traceability, all items are sourced from suppliers that are accredited under the ISO9000 Accreditation Program and who must also continue to meet Bremick’s ongoing Manufacturing and Quality Audits.

All items are manufactured strictly to Australian and International Standards and subjected to rigorous conformance testing throughout the manufacturing process together with extensive compliance testing of finished product at the Bremick Test and Inspection laboratory in Sydney.

Bremick has a NATA accredited laboratory. The Bremick laboratory and quality systems comply to the ISO/IEC 17025 (“General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories”). Confirmation of Chemical composition, Hardness Testing, Detailed Dimensional Inspections and Thread dimensional inspections are all undertaken in our own laboratory.

Traceability is guaranteed for each batch and is also supported by Independent NATA test certificates for mechanical properties in confirmation of actual test results.

The Independent NATA test certificate number is also listed on each Structural Assembly certificate.

Total traceability is supported by both unique product marking, in accordance with Australian and International standards, and a product job numbering system. This job number correlates to all quality records relating to that specific batch which are securely maintained in our electronic data base.

Comprehensive electronic test results are fully maintained for each batch, detailing heat treatment, raw material and relevant mechanical test results on finished product. This means there is complete traceability from the steel mill to the final product.

Bremick produces Inspection Certificates for all Structural Assemblies with the conformance certificates specifying the chemical analysis, mechanical properties and dimensional and visual inspection. This unique certificate also confirms the steel alloy by X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometry (XRF) and the mechanical properties by third party NATA test certificate numbers and results that are traceable to independent testing bodies.

All quality certification is available for each customer online.
