Level 3: Improvements in pollution or ecological restoration, e.g., removal of fish blockages or physical habitat improvements.

Level 1 Options
• Water Quality Analyses
• pH Restoration
• Biological Restoration Greater:– MD lists at watershed scale– Some watersheds are barely impaired
• Bacteria Reductions
• SAV increases (Sediment in Tidal Waters)
4
Level 2 Options
• Interim Progress Toward Level 1
• Localized Restoration
• Long-Term Trend Analyses– MD Core/Trend Network– Non-tidal Rivers
• Statistical Analyses of Nontidal Nutrients
• Statistical Analyses of Biological Data
5
Level 3 Options
• Interim Progress on Level 2– Habitat Restoration
• Stream Blockage Removals
• Wetlands Enhancement – Removal of Non-Native Species
