• What problems or challenges do you bring this evening to this time of retreat?
• Do you know deeply that you are the “habibi” of God, God’s beloved? How did you come to understand or know this?
• If not, what might be keeping you from knowing that you are the “habibi” of God, God’s holy and beloved?
The “habibi”: salt of the
earth?
“You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt loses its taste, with what can it be seasoned? It is no longer
good for anything but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.” Mateo 5:13-14

The “salt”: to know myself as “beloved” (habibi) of God
The action of the salt: to know myself as beloved creates the fire of love
The “bread”/ the meals:the heat of love creates power, frees the powers for good that allows for a solution to numerous challenges
