“Ironman Dream”

One day my husband Jeff decided to become a triathlete. He realized it was a challenge that took commitment, will power and a true look at one’s inner self. Jeff did a couple triathlons in the late 80’s and then stopped to spend time with his children. A great father he is to our two boys!

After watching Sean win his first ever Olympic distance and his age group, Jeff got the “tri bug” again. Now, twenty-two years later, after watching Brendan compete in an Ironman, Jeff is back in the saddle again with a new goal, “to be an Ironman.”

He soon found that technology had advanced considerably. A couple weeks later a P2 bicycle became a new member of the Sullivan household. The first year was a learning year for Jeff. Sean told his father he should work with a virtual coach. That was a great move. Jeff took his advice and joined The Endurance Nation Team (EN).

The rest is history in the making.

I AM AN IRONMAN

By Dennis McMinn

I began as a mortal human being,Someone that most individuals were used to seeing.

I set my eye upon a goalA goal that I could not fear.

To extend my body and mindTraining for hours and hours upon time.

I had to believe both physically and mentally of what I could achieveAnd letting no doubt creep into me.

At times I was tired, hurting and scaredBut the thought of the finish line kept me pushing near.

My goal was to accomplish my dreamThe dream of what one day I could be called

I swam 2.4, I biked 112 and I ran 26.2My body revolting, but then participating in my planAnd as I crossed that finish line with all my strength,

Everyone will look at me differently and call me,

A big thank you to my brother Bruce, for his expertise in photography was extremely helpful. I also want to thank our dear friend, Diane, for capturing all the ITC memories for us this year through her eyes.
