Description: Wireless mesh networks (WMNs) has emerged recently, consist of two types of nodes: mesh routers
and mesh clients. Mesh routers form an infrastructure for mesh clients. To connect the mesh network (consisting of
Marwan Aziz Mohammed, M-Tech () Fellow
mesh clients and mesh routers) to the Internet, gateway devices (gateway node) are needed. Usually, in mesh
networks some mesh routers (gateway candidates) have the gateway functionality which can provide the connectivity
to the Internet. Each node operates not only as a host but also as a router, forwarding packets on behalf of other
nodes that may not be within direct wireless transmission range of their destinations. A WMN is dynamically self-
organized and self-configured, with the nodes in the network automatically establishing and maintaining mesh
connectivity among themselves and Channel assignment in wireless Mesh Network is the mapping between the
available channels and the radios at each node such that the network performance is optimized, like reduce the
interference and improve the throughputs.
In addition, in the course work I studied many subjects such as Ad-Hoc and sensor Network , Mobile computing , High
Speed network ,Data communication, Embedded System Design , Distributed Systems , Information System Security
