ideation

I began the project by exploring the possibilities of the project parameters. I tried to keep the design playful while maintaining a focus on the interaction between the user and the product.

My final design incorporated a shelf that hung underneath the seat. It was attached with a simple hooked portion over a bar. It is very easy to reach under the seat, lift up the shelf, and pull it out to use as a surface. It doesn’t use any hardware to hold the shelf in its different positions and is instead held simply by gravity.
