Once a beggar approached the unbelievers and asked for something. The unbelievers sent the beggar to Sayyidun Al just for fun who was sitting nearby. The beggar approached SayyidunAl and begged. Sayyidun Al recited alt-Alan-Nab ten times and blew on the beggars palm. Then, advising the beggar to close his fist and open it in front of theunbelievers, he sent him back to them. (The unbelieverswere laughing expecting nothing to happen by just blowing on the

Once an Abyssinian (Negro) slave, who had great esteem forSayyidun Al , committed the crime of theft. Thepeople took him to the court of Amr-ul-Mminn, Sayyidun Al

. The slave also confessed that he had committedtheft. Sayyidun Al cut his hand implementingthe law of Shara. When the slave was on his way to home, hecame across Sayyidun Salmn Frs

    and Ibn-ul-Kaww

. Ibn-ul-Kaww inquired, Who has cut your hand? Theslave said, Amr-ul-Mminn Maul Al ( ) hassevered my hand. Ibn-ul-Kaww said amazingly, He has cut yourhand and you are still taking his name with such an honour! Theslave replied, Why shouldnt I admire him? He cut my hand lawfullyand saved me from the torment of hellfire.Sayyidun Salmn Frs listened what they conversed andrelated same to Sayyidun Al who summonedthe slave and placed his severed hand back to the joint of the wristcovering it with a handkerchief. Then Sayyidun Al started reciting something. Meanwhile, a voice was heard from theunseen, Remove the cloth. When the people removed the cloth, the

    What is Karma (marvel)?

Dear Islamic brothers! Did you notice how Maul Al reattached the severed hand of his slave by virtue of special blessingsbestowed by Allah ! Surely, the Almighty Allah delegateswonderful powers to His distinguished servants by virtue of whichwonderful happenings take place that are inexplicable and beyond

the comprehension of human beings. Sometimes having been thevictim of satanic whispers, some nave people start analysing marvels(Karma) through their limited common sense and insight and thisis how they go astray.

Remember! A Karma is such a supernatural manifestation whichhuman intellect cannot comprehend i.e. which cannot be executed

    by physical means.

On page 58 of Bar-e-Sharat [a 1250-page publication ofMaktaba-tul-Madna, a publishing department of Dawat-e-Islami],Allma Mauln Muft Muhammad Amjad Al Aam has stated: Ir is the manifestation of such thing by a Prophetbefore [the declaration of] his Prophethood; and if it is manifested

after the declaration of Prophethood, then it is called Mujiza(miracle). If a similar wonder is manifested by a Wal, then it is

On the bank of Al-Furat, he

offered two Rakt Nafl al and headed towards thebridge of Al-Furat.

After reaching on the bridge, Sayyidun Al pointed his staff towards the river that lowered the water level by ayard. He again pointed the staff towards the river whichfurther lowered by a yard. The third time he pointed and

    A water spring gushed out

Going on the way to Maqm-e-iffn, the battalion of Sayyidun

Al came across a land where there was no signof water and the troops exhausted due to intense thirst. A monkof a nearby church told they could find water 14 kilometresaway from there. Some of companions sought permission to gothere for quenching their thirst. Listening to them Sayyidun Al mounted his mule and pointing out a place heordered to dig the ground. They started digging until a heavy rock

appeared. All efforts to take the rock out were in vain. Seeing theefforts, Sayyidun Al dismounted the mule andthe blessed fingers of his both the hands fumbled the crack in therock and all of a sudden he pulled the heavy rock off. And the pureand crystal-clear stream of water gushed forth underneath the rock, thus the whole battalion quenched the thirst from it. The troopsalso let their animals drink the water and filled the containers. Then

Sayyidun Al put that rock back to its place.

The monk of the church witnessed the marvel and said to SayyidunAl , Are you a prophet? The response of SayyidunAl was in negation. The monk said, Are you anangel? He said, Of course not! He then asked, Who areyou? Sayyidun Al replied back, I am one of

the companions of the Last Prophet Muhammad Bin Abdull and he had also advised me of

something important. Having heard this much, the monk recitedthe Kalima (article of faith) and embraced Islam. Sayyidun Al

asked him, Why have you taken so long time inembracing Islam? The monk said, It has been written in our religiousbooks that there is a hidden stream near the church which will berevealed by a prophet or a companion of the prophet and hence I

and many other monks before me stayed at this church in waitingfor the same. Today my dream came true to witness the event whenyou uncovered the mystery of this hidden stream; I, therefore, wholeheartedly embraced Islam.

Sayyidun Al wept so much that his beard

drenched in tears. He then said, ! I have been mentionedeven in their books. The monk became one of the companions andwarriors of Sayyidun Al and died as martyrwhile fighting against Syrians. Sayyidun Al

himself buried him and prayed for his forgiveness. (Mulakhkha az:Karmat-e-aba, pp. 114; Shawid-un-Nubwwa, 216)

Once Amr-ul-Mminn Sayyidun Al was presentin the House of Allah (Kaba) with both of his sons Sayyidun Immasan and usayn . Noticing a person supplicating inthe court of Allah , Sayyidun Al ordered to

enquired what had happened to him. The person said, Amr-ul-Mminn, I was bold in committing sins and my father, who was arighteous and pious Muslim, would tend to prevent me from sinsrepeatedly. Once my anger boiled over upon his advising to me andI hit him hard. Having been hit, my father then sorrowfully went tothe Kaba and made supplications against me. All of a sudden Iwas under his curse and one side of my body was affected byparalysis and I had to move crawling on the ground. This divinepunishment taught me an admonitory lesson and I asked my fathers

pardon tearfully. Being helpless with fatherly love, he had pity on meand forgave me. He then said to me, My son, let you go with me! Iwill pray for your health exactly at the same place where I hadcursed you.

Thus, we were on the way to Makka riding a she-camel. All of a sudden, she stumbled and my father fell down

between two solid rocks and passed away,

. Now Ihave come alone to the House of Allah. I keep on praying tearfully

to Almighty Allah for my health.

Amr-ul-Mminn Sayyidun Al listened to hispathetic story and said sympathically, O person! If your father was

really pleased with you, have patience, everything willbe okay. Then Sayyidun Al

    offered few Rakt

of al praying for his healing and then said, ! i.e. stand up.

Upon listening to this, the person stood up comfortably and succeededin moving normal. (Mulakhkha az: ujjatulli-alal-lamn, pp. 614)

Sayyidun Al handed over awoollen pouch full of money to the person and said, It is your due.The Holy Prophet said to the person, Receive it anddo not refuse anyone from his progeny who comes and asks you for

By the time he woke up, he found the very woollen pouch in hishand. He called his wife and said, Tell me if I am asleep or awake? She replied, You are fully awake. He became jubilant and relatedthe whole story to his wife. When he checked the list of debtors, he

Four ways of giving four dirham in charity

adr-ul-Afil Allma Mauln Sayyid Muhammad Namuddn

Murdbd has explained as regards this verse inTafsr Khazin-ul-Irfn: According to one of the verdict, this versewas revealed in favour of Sayyidun Al . Once hepossessed only four silver coins and nothing else for donating incharity; so he donated all the four coins in charity - one coin at night, one during the day, one secretly and the other openly.

    Our way of giving charity

! How majestic are the righteous servants of Allah! Asyou have read that they prefer to donate the money with sincerityrather than accumulating it. Sayyidun Al hadfour (silver coins of) dirham which he donated in the path ofAllah in such a way that one was given in day time and anotherat night, one secretly and another openly as one does not knowwhich dirham being more acceptable in the court of Allah will

bring the endless wealth of never-ending bliss and blessings.

On the other hand, even if we intend to give something in charity, the intention of gaining the consent of Allah lacks within us!There is no sincerity and no desire for seeking pleasure of Allah as well. All we want is just to show off that how much money we havegiven in charity. We never get satisfied until our charity becomes

known to others. If its given at Masjid, we want Imm Sahib to callour name aloud in his prayer (Du) so that people would get to

know about our contributed amount in charity. If a Muslim issupported, the supporter has a desire that somehow or the other hisname should be mentioned, the songs of his generosity should besung by people. If we oblige someone, we want him to be staying asour servant or slave, and praise us to the skies. The Holy Quran isinstructing us not to talk too much with pride about somethingwe do for others as well as ask only Allah for the reward. AsAllah has said in Part 3, Sra Al-Baqara, Verse 262:

Those who spend their money in the path of Allah, then after spending

Allah. [Kanz-ul-mn (Translation of Quran)] (Part 3, Sra Al-Baqara, Verse 262)

    adr-ul-Afil Allma Mauln Sayyid Muhammad NamuddnMurdbd has explained as regards the above-mentioned verse: Remembering a favour means to mention it toothers and remind them what we have done to them and makingthem sad. And hurting them means to make them feel embarrassedsaying that you were helpless, hopeless and a poor fellow of no use;

we stood by you or give them pressure in some other way isprohibited. (Khazin-ul-Irfn) If only for the sake of Sayyidun Al may Allah enable us with the sincere passionto give charity.

Strange secret of being never thirsty

The people who have an ideology of Dam dam mast Qalandar, Al

d pel number are very much mistaken. To rectify them, a faith-refreshing parable is presented below. Read and accept the truth ifAllah grants Taufq:

Sayyidun Shaykh Ab Muhammad Abdull Mutad

has narrated: , I was privileged to perform Hajj. In aram,I heard about a person who would not drink water - I was greatlysurprised. I went to see him and asked the reason. He began to tell,I am from Hillah (a city in central Iraq). Once I saw a horrific scenein my dream and found myself exhausted due to the intense thirstand somehow I managed to get to the aw-e-Kawar. I found inthere Sayyidun iddq Akbar, Sayyidun Umar Frq Aam,Sayyidun Umn Ghan and Sayyidun Al - all ofthese respected luminaries were distributing the water to the people.

I moved to Sayyidun Al because I esteemed himvery much and considered him superior to the rest of three caliphsof Islam. To my surprise, he turned away from me! I wasvery thirsty so I went to the rest of three caliphs one by one and eachof them ignored me i.e. turned their faces away from me.

In the mean time, I came across the Prophet . I camenear him and complained, Sayyidun Al turned his face awayfrom me not to speak of quenching my thirst. The Holy Prophet said, How they would give you water! You are enviousof my companions. Having heard this I was sure that I upheld anuntrue faith. Being full of remorse, I repented sincerely before theHoly Prophet . The Blessed Prophet

gave a bowl of water which I drank and then I woke up.

I dont feel thirsty ever since I had a bowl of water from the blessedhands of the Beloved Prophet . After this dream, I

Devotion of Maul AlDespite being very brave, Sayyidun Al-ul-Murta was free from the canker of arrogance, ostentation and self-absorption, but he was embodiment of good conduct. As AllmaAl Qr has said, Maul Al knockeddown an unbeliever in a fight and sat on his chest with an intention

Dear Islamic brothers! You must have noticed that the demonstrationof Sayyidun Als conduct brought good fortune for a Jew whoacquired the magnificent wealth of Islam. Similarly, other Aslf (thepredecessor) kept on weighing their good deeds lest it should not bean act of ostentation. What does Wal refer here?

The renowned exegetist of the Quran Shaykh Muft Amad YrKhn has stated that here Wal does not mean caliphbut friend or helper. As Allah has said:

None is your friend but Allah and the Holy Prophet and the

    true believers.

[Kanz-ul-mn (Translation of Quran)] (Part 6, Sra Al-Mida, Verse 55)

Here also Wal means helper. The aforementioned part of the versehas brought about two notions. Firstly, invoking Y Al Madad inhardship is permissible to say because Sayyidun Al is the helper of all the true believers till the Day of Judgment.Secondly, calling him Maul Al is also allowed as he is Wal andMaul of all the Muslims. It continuously kept vomiting andevery time different body parts barfed out and with lightening speedthese parts joined together to form a full man. As the man started to

My belief strengthened in Gods powers after witnessingthat incident, that surely God Almighty has the powers to give deathand then bring us back to life.

One day, I drew my attention towards the gigantic bird and asked

How about calling Sayyidun Al as Mushkil-Kush

Question 1:How is it to consider Maul Al as

Mushkil-Kush? Isnt only Allah Mushkil-Kush?Answer:Mushkil-Kush means the one who solves problems andhelps in difficulties. There is no doubt that verily Allah isMushkil-Kush but by His Grace, Prophets, aba and Auliyeven a layman can be a Mushkil-Kush, a typical example of suchhelpers are the small billboards with Madadgr Police Phone No.15 in throughout Pakistan. Everyone knows that police is the mostresourceful and an able body to save the public from culprits, heists, danger of enemies and in other law & order situations. Thecompanions who had migrated from Makka toMadna were cordially welcomed and enormouslyhelped by the companions called Anr which meansthe helper. There are numerous examples can be given in this regard.

Consequently, when police being a helper, a social worker being asupporter, a watchman being a guard and a judge can be a providerof justice then why Maul Al , by the grace ofAllah , cannot be a Mushkil-Kush!

    The meanings of Maul

The renowned exegetist Shaykh Muft Amad Yr Khn has stated according to forgoing ad: There are several meaningsof Maul for example, friend, helper, a freed slave, the one who

frees a slave. In this ad, the word Maul does not imply caliph orking but it implies friend and ally or in other words a helper. Infact, Sayyidun Al-ul-Murta is not only afriend of Muslims but also a helper which is why he iscalled Maul Al. (Mirt-ul-Manj, vol. 8, pp. 425)

In the Holy Quran, the angel Jibrl-e-Amn and pious Muslims are

called as Maul. Allah has stated in the Holy Quran:

Best explanation of Question 4: It is included in the Sra Al-Ftia; i.e.and from You alone we seek help. As a consequence, is it Shirk toseek help from others?

Answer:In aforesaid portion of the verse, help is meant to be literalhelp i.e. it is being earnestly supplicated in the court of AlmightyAllah having considered Him as the Creator: O Rab! FromYou alone we seek help. As far as asking help from human being isconcerned, this is just to have known as the connection of divinefavour. As it is said in Sra Ysuf, Part 12, Verse 40:

Here is no Holy Order but of Allah. Or as said in Part 3, Sra Al-Baqara, Verse 255:

To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is

    on the earth.

Then we take akm as akam the decision maker, and we claimthe ownership on our belongings. The portion of verse implies thatactual akam and the actual ownership but for the bondmen withHis bestowal. (J Al-aq, pp. 215) At many places the Holy Qurandeclares the people as helpers other than Allah. In this context, 4verses are as under:

    1.

And seek help in patience and al.

[Kanz-ul-mn (Translation of Quran)] (Part 1, Sra Al-Baqara, Verse 45)

Is patience itself Allah with which it is ordered to seek help? Is alitself Allah with which it is ordered to get help from? In the secondverse, it is stated:

    2.

And help one another in righteousness and piety.

[Kanz-ul-mn (Translation of Quran)] (Part 6, Sra Al-Mida, Verse 2)

If seeking help from other than Allah is strictly prohibited then whatis the following verse meant for?

    3.

You do not have any friends except Allah and His Noble Messenger

and the believers who establish the al and pay the charity, and are

bowed down before Allah.[Kanz-ul-mn (Translation of Quran)] (Part 6, Sra Al-Mida, Verse 55)

    4.

And the Muslim men and Muslim women are the friendsof one another.

[Kanz-ul-mn (Translation of Quran)] (Part 10, Sra At-Tauba, Verse 71)

This blessed verse has been interpreted as follows: And they havereligious affection reciprocally and are helper and friends of oneanother. (Khazin-ul-Irfn, Part 10, Sra At-Tauba, Verse 71)

According to true Islamic belief, if someone seeks help from theAnbiy Kirm and Auliy Kirm in the mistaken belief that they areresponsible for all profit and loss without the will of Allah ; thenit is indeed Shirk. On the other hand, if someone having a strongbelief that Allah is the Real Helper and the Owner of profitand loss, seeks help from someone (being merely potential helper

due to blessings and divine favour) then it is not at all Shirk. Andthis is our very religious belief.

Anyways, the portion of the verse of Sra Al-Ftia ( i.e. and from You alone we seek help) is true but to hell with Satanbecause he instils the evil thought into the heart and createmisapprehensions.

Just ponder over the verse in which it is definitely forbidden to seekhelp other than Allah without specifically mentioned about dead oralive. The obvious and literal meaning interpreted and understoodby those with evil thought, regardless of others, even they themselvescannot help committing Shirk. For instance, there is a heavy bundlelying on the ground and one is helpless to lift it alone; calling

someone for help and said, Please help me in lifting this burden sothat I could put it on my head. As per the same evil thought, is it

Answer: As for incentive of seeking help from other than Allah, there are two sayings of Mustafa Karm :

    1. Ask the kind-hearted people of my Umma for your needs andyou will get Rizq (sustenance). (Al-Jmi-u-aghr lis-Suy, pp. 72,ad 1106)

    2. Ask the people having beautiful faces for your needs andgoodness. (Al-Mujam-ul-Kabr lil-abarn, vol. 11, pp. 67, ad 11110)

    Allah

has said, Ask of my kind-hearted bondmen so you will

get comfort and live peacefully under their shade for I have kept myblessings hidden in them. (Musnad-ush-Shab, vol. 1, pp. 406, ad 700)

    Vision restored to a blind

Sayyidun Umn Bin unayf has narrated that a blindcompanion presented before the Beloved Prophet

and said, Please pray to Allah for my relief! The Holy Prophet said, If you want I can pray for you and if you just

be patient, it would be better for you. The companion requested forDu. He was then instructed to make Wu properly and performtwo Rakt al then recite this Du:

    *

    * During the invocation of this Du, you have to say ( )

    instead of saying ( )

. For reasons, please read Fatw Razawiyya, volume 30 and booklet, Tajall-ul-Yaqn, page 156.

Y Muhammad! I am attentive toward my Rab for my needs to be

satisfied by the Wasla of my Blessed Prophet. O Allah! Accede his

Sayyidun Umn Bin unayf said, Before Allah ( )I swear! We were having conversation and could not even part thathe ( ) came to us and he looked as if he had never got blind!

Du made invoking Y Raslall was granted!

Dear Islamic brothers! This sacred ad proves the approval to callY Raslall by far because that companion called Y Raslallin a whispering voice. As a matter of fact, this permission was not

specific to that blind companion but after the apparent passing ofthe Holy Prophet till the day of reckoning, itsblessings (Baraka) exist. This Du was then told by the samecompanion Sayyidun Umn Bin unayf to one ofneedy individuals during the time of the Sayyidun Umn BinAffn .

It is stated in abarn: A person was needy and came up to SayyidunUmn Bin unayf . The latter asked the former to offer2 Rakt al after Wu and then make this Du (the same asmentioned earlier) and advised him to mention his need replacing

the last word (jat). The person left and did the same as hewas instructed and his need was satisfied. (Al-Mujam-ul-Kabr, vol. 9,pp. 30, ad 8311 Mulakhkhaan)
