Maruti to play bigger role in Suzuki`s global operations`

    Q&A: Shinzo Nakanishi

    BS Reporter / Mumbai December 21, 2007

Shinzo Nakanishis rich international experience is expected to help Maruti face biggerchallenges from the likes of Honda, Toyota and Tata Motors. His earlier assignments includeSuzuki operations in China, Indonesia, Hungary, Pakistan and West Asia, markets that are insome ways similar to India. He is also on the board of Suzuki Motor Corporation worldwide.

Nakanishi has been associated with Maruti from the time the company was set up and startedoperations in 1983. He has been chairman (non-executive) ofMaruti since 2002. Just two daysafter taking charge as the managing director ofMaruti Suzuki, Indias leading car maker, ShinzoNakanishi, in an e-mail interview toBusiness Standard, explained how he planned to sustain hiscompanys domination.

Maruti is at a crucial juncture as the number of challengers to its small car hegemony isabout to multiply. How would you tackle this challenge?

Maruti takes competition seriously. We will stay focused on the goal of achieving one millionsales by 2010. This will require capacity expansion and upgradation of manufacturing facilities, for which we have already announced an investment of Rs 9,000 crore. The expansion of oursales and service network is underway for the one million target.

At the same time, I believe that Maruti Suzuki is ready to play a much bigger role in Suzukisglobal operations, and my task will be to make that happen. Maruti Suzukis manufacturing

capability has reached a level where we want to make small cars exclusively in India for exportto Europe.

Of the three million cars that Suzuki wants to sell worldwide, almost 30 per cent have to comefrom Maruti Suzuki India. We have lined up certain critical initiatives that will better theexperience of our customers and partners, and I will keep a close watch on them.

How do you plan to face the competition from Tata Motors' new car, which has come to beknown as the Rs 1 lakh car?

We have read reports that it will be launched some time in 2008. So far, we have not seen thecar. There is no clarity yet on important aspects of model such as features, performance, safety,

    emission and others.

With SX4, Maruti has taken a vital step to grow beyond the small car segment. How wouldyou balance your car dominance with big car aspirations in future?

Let me share with you the key points of Suzukis worldwide strategy with regard to models.Suzuki has chosen a strategy of World Strategic Models to drive long term growth.

As part of this strategy, we have been developing global models which are European in overallstyling and design, and carefully modified to suit local markets. What this means is that Indiancustomers get international levels of quality and design, at the same time as customers in otherkey markets.

Swift, which was launched worldwide in 2005, was the first model to emerge out of this strategy.Since then, Suzuki has launched the Grand Vitara, SX4 and Splash as part of the World StrategicModel approach. Small cars will continue to be in focus.

However, Suzuki is consciously expanding its image from a maker of mini-cars and small cars,to a company that offers the full range of models.

Your predecessor, Jagdish Khattar, is known to have enjoyed excellent relations withdealers, managers, employees and component suppliers. As the company's first non-Indianmanaging director, how do you plan to continue this? Or, would you do things differently?

I have been associated with Maruti and India for 17 years. I believe one of the reasons for

Marutis success has been its ability to strike a balance. We have borrowed the best in terms ofJapanese technology, quality and work culture. At the same time, in our relationship withemployees, partners and customers, we have been Indian to the core.

This balance will continue. Mr Khattar has a terrific legacy, and we can show gratitude to hiseffort by building on his legacy. Maruti Suzuki has to now play a much bigger role in Suzukisglobal operations. Besides, we have to take major initiatives to better the experience of ourcustomers and partners.

Maruti Zips past 80-lakh-mark in 25 years

    The mint

New Delhi: Embarking on its journey 25 years ago with just over 800 units, the country's largest car maker, Maruti Suzuki India, has

driven past the milestone of producing 80 lakh cars.

Since the rollout of the first 'Maruti 800 from its Gurgaon plant on 14 December, 1983, the company has so far produced a total of

81,05,228 cars of its 14 models as on 31 July from its Gurgaon and Manesar facilities.

Maruti 800 alone accounts for over 27 lakh units, of which more than 25 lakh units were sold in the domestic market and the rest

    exported.

"It is very good to see that Maruti has been achieving many milestones in recent months. Twenty five years ago when we set out our

journey, the objective was to modernise the Indian automotive industry and I think we have achieved that," Maruti Suzuki India (MSI)

    chairman R C Bhargava said.

The company has passed through many memorable moments in these years and overall it was a "steady and satisfactory" journey,

although with some "bumps" on the way, he added.

"Delivery of the first car by then prime minister Late Indira Gandhi was the happiest moment for me," said Bhargava, who has been

associated with the company since its inception in 1981.

In the first year of operation in 1983, the company had produced just 844 units of M800. At that time, it had an installed capacity of

    only 40,000 units a year.

MSI crossed the one lakh production figure in September, 1986, and touched the 40 lakh mark 20 years after in 2003.

However, the next 40 lakh units were produced within just 6 years from the two plants, which currently drive out 10 lakh cars a year

from an installed capacity of just 6.5 lakh units per annum.

"In July this year, we produced 86,630 units, which is the highest ever in a month," Bhargava said.

Over the past 25 years, MSI has contributed about Rs50,000 crore to the national exchequer. The company is currently undertaking a

Rs 9,000 crore investment programme which includes adding a new facility at Manesar and increasing the capacity of the Gurgaon

plant, besides ramping up R&D activities and launching new models.

The company has also seen changes within itself. From being a joint venture called Maruti Udyog Ltd, between the government and

Japan's Suzuki Motor Corp with the latter holding a minority stake of 26 per cent, it is now Maruti Suzuki India controlled by the

    Japanese firm.

    Maruti sales up despite recession

78,074 units in July. It had sold 58,543 vehicles in the same month last year.

Sales in the domestic market grew by 27.63 per cent to 67,528 units in July from 52,911 units in the same month last year. Exports

rose by 87.25 per cent to 10,546 units compared to 5,632 units in the year-ago period, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) said in a statement

During the month the company crossed the 50,000 units export mark for its A-Star which was introduced internationally in Januarythis year, it added.

Sales of the company's oldest and once bread-and-butter model M800 declined by 43.55 per cent at 2,796 units compared to 4,953

units last year, while A2 segment (comprising Alto, Wagon R, Zen Estillo, Swift, A-Star and Ritz) witnessed a growth of 38.28 per cent

at 48,115 units compared to 34,795 units in the same month last year.

Maruti Suzuki sales in November 2009

    New Delhi, December 01, 2009

Car market leader Maruti Suzuki India Limited sold a total of 87, 807 vehicles in November 2009. This includes 11,448 units of

    exports.

The company had sold 47,704 vehicles in the domestic market in November 2008.

November 2008 was exceptionally low sales month, due to impact of economic slowdown.

The 60.1 percent domestic sales growth in November 2009 is calculated on a low base of November 2008 when the industry was in

the midst of worst ever slowdown. Compared to November 2007 (65,216 units) Maruti Suzukis domestic sales have grown 17.1

percent. Similarly, for the period April-November 2009 (v/s April-November 2007, 4,66,232 units) the domestic sales growth is 18.9

    percent.

Be it production or R&D, sales or profits, Marutis role in Suzukis global designs is increasing.MarutiManaging DirectorShinzo Nakanishimaps this pick-up toAnurag Prasad

The competition is hotting up, withnew players, new models. How isMaruti planning to defend its 50%market share?

We are focused on the goal ofachieving domestic sales of one millioncars by 2010-11. This will require us toexpand capacity and continuouslyupgrade our manufacturing facilities, for which we have announced an investment of about Rs 9,000 crore. An expansion of oursales and service network, with the one million target in mind, is also underway. We haveset ambitious targets for productivity, quality, safety and cost, and our teams in these areascontinue to focus on them.

At the same time, Maruti Suzuki is ready to play a larger role in Suzukis global operations, and my task is to make that happen. Our manufacturing capabilities have reached a levelwhere we want to make small cars exclusively in India for export to Europe. Of the threemillion cars that Suzuki wants to sell worldwide, about 30% have to come from India. Maruti

Suzuki has also started to share its good sales and service practices with other Suzukicompanies worldwide, and this flow should gain momentum in the next few years.

Maruti Suzukis R&D has shown tremendous potential through its contribution to the Swift,Concept A-Star and, now, DZire. Our R&D will strengthen in the next three to five years, both in infrastructure and capability. We have gone up from 300 engineers to 480 in thepast few months, and I want the number to increase to 1,000 in the next three years.

We also plan to set up an independent R&D Centre, for which we have applied for land fromthe Haryana government. This facility will be at par with the facility in Suzuki, Japan.

  • 8/14/2019 Maruti to Play Bigger Role in Suzuki s Global Operations` Q&A:

    5/19

Your company was the first to talk about making India a global centre for smallcars. What progress have you made in this direction?

In 2007-08, our exports grew about 35% on a year-on-year basis. Our aim is to export200,000 units in three years, about four times the current level. Suzuki Motors next worldcar will come from the Maruti Suzuki plant in Manesar, by the end of this calendar. We planto export 100,000 units of the new model annually.

We have the technology and skills to build top-quality cars for the international market. But our export ambitions need infrastructure support. We recently signed an agreementwith the Adani Group to set up a car terminal at the Mundra Port. While we will continue toexport from Mumbai Port, the new terminal at Mundra will be used for export to Europe.

Are you planning any strategic shifts in Marutis operations? What are your plansfor new models?

We have launched seven models in the past three years, and we have an aggressive plangoing forward. Suzuki Motor has chosen a strategy of world strategic models to drive long-term growth. As part of this strategy, we develop global models that are European in overallstyling and design, and are modified to suit local markets. So, Indian customers getinternational levels of quality and design, at the same time as customers in other keymarkets. Swift, launched worldwide in 2005, was the first model to emerge out of this

strategy, followed by Grand Vitara, SX4 and Splash.

Suzuki is changing its image from a maker of mini-cars and small cars, to a company thatoffers the full range of models. While continuing to offer value to customers, thereis aconscious effort to introduce contemporary design, style and premium-ness, and widen therange of models on offer. Splash and A Star will be introduced in India as part of the newapproach. Our engineers, along with Suzuki engineers, are working on the next generationengines, which are likely to be fitted in our cars in the next three to five years. The target isthat these engines should be even better in terms of fuel efficiency, emissions, performanceand other critical parameters. They will reflect all the learning and development that Suzukihas done in the area of engine technology over the past many years.

Riding on low price and good features, Alto has become the best-selling car fromthe Maruti stable. Will you look at a low-cost small car to take on the Nano and

other $3,000 cars? Is there any reason to continue with the 800, when the Altohas overtaken it in sales?

We are not looking at the segment below Maruti 800. The Alto has been Indias largest-selling car for almost three years on the trot, and the only one selling over 200,000 units ina year. At the same time, the 800 has a loyal set of customers. This way, we are able tooffer two options to customers wanting an entry-level car.

Your models have always had long runs. Is the shrinking lifecycle of passengercars a concern? How are you dealing with it?

Shrinking lifecycles of cars is a reality across the world. In the past few years, we have beenupgrading models at a rapid pace. Take Swift, which was launched just three years ago, andhas a customer wait list. Still, we introduced a refreshed version in January. Our growingR&D strength is standing us in good steadbesides developing new models, we are able to

quickly refresh existing ones to create excitement in the market.

The other implication of shrinking product lifecycles is that we are launching new modelswith high localisation and at minimum cost. Earlier, when lifecycles were long, we couldlaunch a model with high import content, and hope to reduce cost and increase localisationgradually with an increase in volumes. But that luxury is not available anymore. We have todo our best at the launch stage itself, in terms of localisation and cost. Thats how weapproached Swift, SX4 and, now, DZire.

    6/19

Your regional warehouses are expected to cut delivery time by 75%. But it seemsthat, even with both the Gurgaon and Manesar plants running at full capacity, demand exceeds supply. Is more capacity building on cards?

Ill answer your question in two parts. At present, all our new cars and spares aredispatched from our facilities in Haryana. We propose to set up warehouses in different partsof the country to stock spares and new cars. With these warehouses, we expect to provide

better and faster service to customers across the country.

Now, about the capacity question. Yes, some of our models like SX4 and Swift have had await list for many months. The response has been beyond our expectations. We areexpanding capacity at the Manesar plant. Its annual capacity has already been increasedfrom 100,000 cars to 170,000 cars, and is expected to increase to 300,000 cars during2008-09.

But then you might end up with excess capacity...

A combination of domestic demand, exports and contract manufacturing will help us utilisecapacity.

Your predecessor once alluded to the possibility of utilising Maruti plants to caterto the needs of other OEMs too. In your tenure, do you see the possibility and

need to share platforms with other OEMs who may be competing with Suzuki inother geographies?

We will be manufacturing a small car for Nissan, which is an expression of confidence in thequality and manufacturing capabilities ofMaruti Suzuki. Suzuki Motor has a long-standingrelationship with some car companies, including Nissan, whereby it manufactures cars forthem. For Maruti Suzuki, this will be the first opportunity, and we look forward to achievingthis to the mutual satisfaction of all concerned.

Coming to the issue facing the automobile industry today, rising interest rates areputting pressure on sales in India. How is the industry planning to deal with theslowdown? For Maruti, is a stronger yen also a cause for worry, as you importcomponents from Japan?

The industry has been coping with the impact of higher interest rates over the past year or

so. There is no magic formula: companies have to introduce new models, reduce costs andservice customers better. As for the exchange rate impact, this is another externalmacroeconomic factor. Specifically, for Maruti Suzuki, since our localisation levels are high, the impact of yen movement is not so much.

How will the US recession and a slowdown in Europe impact Suzukis salesabroad? Is that a cause for worry?

In a globalised economy, a US recession will impact other economies in some way or theother. But as to the exact impact and its duration, that is not clear at this stage.

Maruti Suzuki inks agreement with Mundra Port for a mega car Terminal for Exports

Mundra (Gujarat): Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL) and Mundra Port and

Special Economic Zone Ltd (MPSEZL) today signed an agreement for a

mega car terminal, expected to be operational by December 2008, at Mundra

    in Kutch district of Gujarat.

The agreement was signed by Mr Shinzo Nakanishi, Managing Director and

CEO, MSIL, and Mr Gautam S. Adani, Chairman and MD, MPSEZL, atMundra Port in the presence of senior officials from MSIL & MPSEZL.The

initial investment in the project is expectedto be around Rs 100 crore. Of this,

MPSEZL will invest Rs 60 crore in setting up infrastructure at the port. MSIL

will invest Rs 40 crore to set up a Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) centre at the

    port premises.

MPSEZL is planning to augment the port infrastructure in due course of time, a company spokesman said

Mr Nakanishi said Maruti Suzuki is ready to play a much greater role in Suzuki's global operations. "We have the technology and

skills to build top quality cars for the international market. But our export ambitions need infrastructure support on the ground, and this

initiative will be a big step forward in filling that gap."

Mr Adani said the port would develop cost-effective Roll-on Roll-off (RORO) terminal for facilitating automobile export by MarutSuzuki, the largest car manufacturer in India. "Our RORO terminal at Mundra will provide cost competitive support to Indian

automobile industry for international trade and our aim is to make Mundra a hub for automobile exports. The excellent draft at Mundra

will allow berthing of the largest car carriers and turn them around in the least possible time.

"Maruti Suzuki's exports have grown significantly this year, and will touch 50,000 units in 2007-08 (nearly 28 per cent growth). The

company currently exports from Mumbai Port. Maruti Suzuki will be launching its new model, A-Star, by the end of this calendar year

With this, exports are likely to go up significantly. The company plans to export two lakh cars annually to Europe and the rest of the

    world by the year 2010.

Maruti Suzuki will commence export operations at Mundra Port from January 2009. In view of increasing export volumes, it will

continue exports from Mumbai as well.

The new terminal will have a car stockyard spread over 35 acres, and a dedicated 'buffer area" for cars to be parked just before

loading on the PCC (Pure Car Carrier) ships. The car terminal's RORO berth would speed up the loading process and minimise thechance of damage to cars.

This mega car terminal's PDI Centre, spread over 7,500 square metres, would conduct the final quality check before the cars are

loaded on ships for export. The Rs 40 crore being invested in this facility is part of the Rs. 9,000-crore investment plan announced by

MSIL and Suzuki Motor Corporation (SMC) of Japan.

MSIL, a subsidiary of SMC, is the leader in passenger cars and MPVs in India, accounting for almost 55 per cent of total industry

sales. It offers 10 models, ranging from the people's car Maruti 800 to the stylish hatch-back Swift, SX4 Sedan and luxury SUV Grand

    Vitara.

Listed on the BSE and NSE, the company had a net sales turnover of $3.25 billion and net profit of $347 million 2006-07.

Mundra Port and SEZ is India's largest private sector port and SEZ, having handled over 20 million tonnes of wide range of cargo

including bulk, break bulk, liquid, containers as well as automobiles during first nine months of 2007-2008. The SEZ which is planned

over 32,000 acres of land will be self-contained with power, water, social infrastructure, airport, railway line, banking services etc and

will house variety of manufacturing and servicing units.

Maruti Suzuki is one of India's leading automobile manufacturers and the market leader in thecar segment, both in terms of volume of vehicles sold and revenue earned. Until recently,18.28% of the company was owned by the Indian government, and 54.2% by Suzuki ofJapan. The Indian government held aninitial public offeringof 25% of the company in June 2003. Asof 10 May 2007, Govt. of India sold its complete share to Indian financial institutions. With this,Govt. of India no longer has stake in MarutiUdyog.

Maruti Udyog Limited (MUL) was established in February 1981, though the actual productioncommenced in 1983 with the Maruti 800, based on the Suzuki Altokei carwhich at the timewas the only modern car available in India, its' only competitors- theHindustan AmbassadorandPremier Padmini were both around 25 years out of date at that point. Through 2004, Maruti hasproduced over 5 Million vehicles. Marutis are sold in India and various several other countries, depending upon export orders. Models similar to Marutis (but not manufactured by MarutiUdyog) are sold by Suzuki and manufactured in Pakistan and otherSouth Asian countries.

The company annually exports more than 50,000 cars and has an extremely large domesticmarket in India selling over 730,000 cars annually. Maruti 800, till 2004, was the India's largestselling compact car ever since it was launched in 1983. More than a million units of this car havebeen sold worldwide so far. Currently, Maruti Alto tops the sales charts and Maruti Swift is thelargest selling in A2 segment.

Due to the large number ofMaruti 800s sold in the Indian market, the term "Maruti" iscommonly used to refer to this compact car model. Till recently the term "Maruti", in popularIndian culture, was associated to the Maruti 800 model.

Pressure started mounting on Indira and Sanjay Gandhi to share the details of the progress on theMaruti Project. Since country's resources were made available by mother to her son's petproject. A delegation of Indian technocrats was assigned to hunt a collaboratorfor the project.Initial rounds of discussion were held with the giants of theautomobile industry in Japan

includingToyota,Nissan andHonda.Suzuki Motor Corporation was at that time a small playerin the four wheeler automobile sector and had major share in the two wheeler segment. Suzuki'sbid was considered negligible.

In the initial rounds of discussion the giants had their bosses present and in the later roundsrelated to the technical discussions executives of these automobile giants were present. OsamuSuzuki, Chairman and CEO of the company ensured that he was present in all the rounds ofdiscussion. Osamu in an article writes that it subtly massaged their (Indian delegation) egos andalso convinced them about the sincerity of Suzuki's bid. In the initial days Suzuki took all stepsto ensure the government about its sincerity on the project. Suzuki in return received a lot of helpfrom the government in such matters as import clearances for manufacturing equipment (againstthe wishes of the Indian machine tool industry then and its own socialistic ideology), land

purchase at government prices for setting up the factory Gurgaon and reduced or removal ofexcise tariffs. This helped Suzuki conscientiously nurse Maruti through its infancy to becomeone of its flagship ventures.[3]

    [edit] Joint venture related issues

Maruti Suzuki'sA-Starvehicle during its unveiling in Pragati Maidan, Delhi.A-Star,

Suzuki's fifth global car model, was designed and is made only in India.[4] Besides

being Suzuki's largest subsidiary in terms of car sales, Maruti Suzuki is also

Suzuki's leading research and development arm outside Japan

Relationship between the Government ofIndia, under the United Front (India)coalition andSuzuki Motor Corporation over thejoint venture was a point of heated debate in the Indianmedia till Suzuki Motor Corporation gained the controlling stake. This highly profitable jointventure that had a near monopolistic trade in the Indianautomobilemarket and the nature of thepartnership built up till then was the underlying reason for most issues. The success of the jointventure led Suzuki to increase its equity from 26% to 40% in 1987, and further to 50% in 1992.

In 1982 both the venture partners had entered into an agreement to nominate their candidate forthe post of Managing Director and every Managing Director will have a tenure of five years[5]

Initially R.C.Bhargava, was the managing director of the company since the inception of thejoint venture. Till today he is regarded as instrumental for the success ofMarutiUdyog. Joiningin 1982 he held several key positions in the company before heading the company as Managing

Director. Currently he is on the Board of Directors.[6]

After completing his five year tenure, Mr.Bhargava later assumed the office of Part-Time Chairman. The Government nominated Mr.S.S.L.N. Bhaskarudu as the Managing Director on 27 August 1997. Mr. Bhaskarudu had joinedMaruti in 1983 after spending 21 years in the Public sector undertaking Bharat HeavyElectricals Limited as General Manager. Later in 1987 he was promoted as Chief GeneralManager, 1988 as Director, Productions and Projects, 1989 Director, Materials and in 1993 asJoint Managing Director.

The Suzuki Motor corporation didn't attend the Annual General Meeting of the Board with thereason of it being called on a short notice. [7] Later Suzuki Motor Corporation went on record tostate that Mr. Bhaskarudu was "incompetent" and wanted someone else. However, the Ministryof Industries, Government of India refuted the charges. Media stated from the Maruti sources

that Bhaskarudu was interested to indigenise most of components for the models including gearboxes especially forMaruti 800. Suzuki also felt that Bhaskarudu was a proxy for theGovernment and would not let it increase its stake in the venture.[8] IfMaruti would have beenable to indigenise gear boxes then Maruti would have been able to manufacture all the modelswithout the technical assistance from Suzuki. Till today the issue of localization of gear boxes ishighlighted in the press.[9]

The relation strained when Suzuki Motor Corporation moved to Delhi High Court to bring a stayorder against the appointment of Mr. Bhaskarudu. The issue was resolved in an out-of-courtsettlement and both the parties agreed that R S S L N Bhaskarudu would serve up to 31December 1999, and from 1 January 2000, Jagdish Khattar, Executive Director ofMarutiUdyogLimited would assume charges as the Managing Director.[10] Many politicians believed,

and had stated in parliament that the Suzuki Motor Corporation is unwilling to localizemanufacturing and reduce imports. This remains true, even today the gear boxes are stillimported from Japan and are assembled at the Gurgaon facility.

[edit] Industrial relationsFor most of its history, MarutiUdyog had relatively few problems with its labour force. Itsemphasis of a Japanese work culture and the modern manufacturing process, first instituted inJapan in the 1970s, was accepted by the workforce of the company without any difficulty. Butwith the change in management in 1997, when it became predominantly government controlledfor a while, and the conflict between the United Front Government and Suzuki may have beenthe cause of unrest among employees. A major row broke out in September 2000 whenemployees ofMarutiUdyog Ltd (MUL) went on an indefinite strike, demanding among otherthings, revision of the incentive scheme offered and implementation of a pension scheme.Employees struck work for six hours in October 2000, irked over the suspension of nineemployees, going on a six-hour tools-down strike at its Gurgaon plant, demanding revision of theincentive-linked pay and threatened to fast to death if the suspended employees were notreinstated. About this time, the NDA government, following a disinvestments policy, proposed tosell part of its stake in Maruti in a public offering. The Staff union opposed this sell-off plan onthe grounds that the company will lose a major business advantage of being subsidised by theGovernment.

Many of the auto component companies other than MarutiUdyog started to offer components

and accessories that were compatible. This caused a serious threat and loss of revenue to Maruti.Maruti started a new initiative under the brand name Maruti Genuine Accessories to offeraccessories like alloy wheels, body cover, carpets, door visors, fog lamps, stereo systems, seatcovers and other car care products. These products are sold through dealer outlets and authorizedservice stations throughout India.[22]

As part of its corporate social responsibility MarutiUdyog launched the Maruti Driving Schoolin Delhi. Later the services were extended to other cities of India as well. These schools aremodelled on international standards, where learners go through classroom and practical sessions. Many international practices like road behaviour and attitudes are also taught in these schools. Before driving actual vehicles participants are trained on simulators.[23]

"We are very concerned about mounting deaths on Indian roads. These can be brought down ifgovernment, industry and the voluntary sector work together in an integrated manner. But we feltthat Maruti should first do something in this regard and hence this initiative ofMaruti DrivingSchools."

Jagdish Khattar, at the launch ceremony ofMarutiDriving School, Bangalore
