Working as a member of the Technical Services Team, Martin uses his expertise as a mining engineer to assist clients with Enterprise Optimisation. In this capacity, Martin conducts pit optimisation, provides in-house mine planning technical advice, provides consultant support and, life-of-mine design/schedule work. Working closely with the Technical Services Specialists, data from Martin’s optimisation work is utilised in Whittle Consulting proprietary software (Prober-E), as part of the Enterprise Optimisation process. Martin has extensive engineering experience having worked with many of Australia’s leading mining companies. He has undertaken mine planning work for BHP WAIO, Atlas Iron, Fortescue Metals and CST Minerals. He has also worked at AMC Consultants, Rio Tinto, Mining One and a geotechnical firm. With many years of fly-in, fly-out work and having completed his first- hand practical experience in production operations, Martin passed the mining law and quarrying examination to gain an Unrestricted Quarry Manager’s Certificate of Competency (WA). Martin is experienced using Geovia Whittle, Vulcan, SURPAC, iGantt and, Deswik. Martin has also spent time in the infantry of the Australian Defence Force. Deploying twice to Afghanistan, his engineering background proved invaluable while working abroad in an unconventional environment.
