(NHL’s 100th Anniversary and Stanley Cup’s 125th Anniversary)
Six time Stanley Cup Champion, five in Edmonton and one in New
York. Two league MVPs and one play off MVP. Twice named by the
players as their MVP. The only player to captain two different
professional teams to championship. As a tribute to one of the
finest leaders in NHL history, the National Hockey League awards
the Mark Messier NHL Leadership Award to the player who exemplifies
