OFFSHORE WIND SHIPMENTS CASE STUDY FIVE VOYAGES WITH 50 TRANSITION PIECES AND 1 OHVS Phu My, Vietnam, to Ostende, Belgium 50 transition pieces and OHVS for the offshore wind industry Contractor: Martin Bencher Vessels: Industrial Royal, Industrial Revolution, HR Constitution, Aquila J, Drago J. In Oct 2015 Martin Bencher hired Intermarine to transport 50 transition pieces and one OHVS in five total shipments from Asia to Europe over a four month span. All shipments had to be carried out on a last in/first out basis and shipped via the Suez channel to minimize transit time. “We have been very happy working with Intermarine on these shipments. Dealing with a project this size, requires a proactive and flexible approach. Intermarine has throughout this project demonstrated their capabilities by: being flexible, adjusting the laycans to accommodate late changes in the production plan without any financial impacts on the overall shipping cost, being proactive by developing an extensive method statement eliminating doubts about the loading/ discharge operations, and being physically represented by knowledgeable Port Captains to orchestrate the loadout and discharge operations.” Site Details: Synopsis: Quote from the Client: The technical planning of the project began Q1 2015 with technical solutions, method statement (MS) and the design of transportation equipment. Because these were the first transition pieces manufactured by CS Wind in Vietnam for the offshore industry they required a high focus on quality and safety from both the cargo and transport suppliers Issuance of detailed MS including lifting arrangements and lashing descriptions meeting all HSE requirement and Nobel Denton rules Port Captain and HSE attendance at port of loading and discharge 50 transition pieces each 19,9 x 6,26 x 6,65m - 146,44 mt 25 TP platform each 11,61 x 7,94 x 5,47 m - 19,85 mt 1 x OHVS 19,33 x 8,30 x 8,08 m - 243,6 mt 1 x OHVS girder 17,72 x 15,65 x 5,35 m - 146,10mt + parts Work Scope of Project: Cargo Description/Dimensions: Image provided by Martin Bencher
