Aquatic Exercise Class Descriptions Classes are rated according to difficulty, from easy *
to difficult ****. Equipment is provided for all classes.
*Aqua Yoga (stretch): This stress-reducing gentle
exercise class increases flexibility and balance.
*Aqua Pilates (strength): Use the medium of the
water to gently improve alignment, posture and
balance. This class uses equipment with slow rhythmic
motion for total body strengthening.
*Pi-Yo-Chi: Get stronger, improve flexibility and
balance with our NEW class! This trio combines
Pilates, Yoga, and Ai Chi to enrich both body and
mind.
*Gentle Moves: Improve range of motion and joint
health as you move through the soothing medium of
the warm water. Improve muscle tone, flexibility and
balance.
***Aqua Fusion: Instructor’s choice. This class uses a
variety of styles to enhance your strength training
and cardio fitness.
***Latin Waves: Shimmy and shake your way to
fitness while moving to the rhythm. Enjoy a water-
based workout that is challenging and exhilarating!
****Aqua Power: This high-energy, shallow water
class improves aerobic conditioning and total body
fitness.
*Deep Stretch: A combo of relaxing Ai Chi, Yoga,
and Pilates exercise designed for deep water, using
buoyancy equipment. A beautiful evening wind
down...promising a great night’s sleep.
***Going Deep: Try a deep water fitness class that
will shape your body and improve your cardio
health. Increase your strength and endurance with no
impact on the joints.
***Deep Core Challenge: Improve overall body
performance while you challenge your deepest
muscles in this core conditioning workout.
****Super Fit Deep: A total body cardio workout
with no impact on the joints.
Other Swim Descriptions
Lap Swim: Swimming continuous laps. Kickboards
and pull-buoys are available. Must be 13 years and
older. Pool may be shared with other programs and
lane lines may be switched to accommodate.
Family Swim: Adults and families only. Children 15
and under must be accompanied in the water by a
parent.
Public Swim: Open to all ages. Children 6 and
under must be accompanied in the water and be
within arm’s reach of a parent at all times. Our slide
is on at this time (swimming and height requirements
apply). Splash Away: Discounted public swim.
Aqua Play: For parents and children 6 and under,
non-instructed play time. Children 3 and under and
non-toilet trained children must wear a swim diaper
and plastic pants.
Kayak and Paddle Board practice: Open practice
time for kayak rolls and stand up paddle-boarding.
Non-instructed, must bring your own clean
equipment.
Clark College: The entire pool is closed to the
public. Registration for these classes must be done
through the college (www.clark.edu).
VSC (Vancouver Swim Club): The entire pool is
closed to the public.
Swim Lessons: During swim lessons, the pool is
closed to public swimming. To register for swim
lessons, call (360) 487-7100, visit
www.vanparksrec.org, or stop by the front desk.
Help Us Maintain Top-Quality Pool Water
Do not swim if you have had intestinal illness, stomach ache, or diarrhea in the past 14 days. Children 3 and under must wear
swim diaper and plastic pants (Please Note: Swim diapers and plastic pants are available for purchase at the front desk).
As a courtesy to other patrons and to reduce water quality issues, a soap shower is required before swimming and refrain
from wearing body lotions, fragrances, hair spray/gels and makeup into pools.
Swim diapers and plastic pants are required for all children 3 and under and non-toilet trained children four and older. Both
are sold at our front counter. Swim Diapers $2.00 each, reusable plastic pants $5.00
Did you know that we also sell swim goggles, swim caps, ear plugs and towels?
They are available at the front counter (upstairs).
Please ensure you keep your valuables safe by using the lockers. Locks are available
for purchase at the front counter for $5. We are not responsible for lost or stolen items.
