Marsh Farm Children’s Centre: how it helps and supports local parents
“I like going to the Father’s Group as it gives me and my children a brilliant kick start for the day.”
Parents say:“I do not have any family in Luton and was worried that when I had my baby I would become very isolated. Through the Children Centre my son and I have made some very good friends.”
Making life better for children, carers and communities

WhaT Is Marsh FarM ChILdren’s CenTre? Marsh Farm Children’s Centre is a place where children under five years of age and their families can access help and support from teams of professionals… including managing childrens’ behaviour, parenting skills, supporting children with additional needs, ante and post-natal support, healthy living, play and learning, smoking cessation - and more. A ‘one stop shop’ for parents. The Marsh Farm sure start Children’s Centre is based over three sites: • Lea Manor site at Redgrave Gardens: home
to Butterflies Nursery, run by the Pre-School Learning Alliance, and the Sure Start team.
• Leabank site: incorporates Gill Blowers Nursery School, Sessional Care for two to three year olds, and a community activity space. A holiday playscheme also runs from the Leabank site.
• Cheynes Infant School – a community activity space, health clinic, with more services to be developed.
