SPECIFICATIONS
GENERALAluminum framing shall be Marlin System 60thermally improved as manufactured by Marlinwindows.
MATERIALSAll framing shall be aluminum extrusions of6063-T5 alloy & temper with a minimum wallthickness of .094". System 60 shall have a PVCthermal separator to eliminate contact betweenthe interior and exterior sections. Glazing gasketsshall be extruded E.P.D.M. System shallaccommodate vertical structural silicone buttglazing (Architect specify).
FINISHStandard architectural Class II anodic colorconforming to Aluminum AssociationAA-M12-C22-A34 for dark bronze orAA-M12-C22-A31 for clear anodize. (ArchitecturalClass I and Class II anodic finishes and organiccoatings available - specify).
CONSTRUCTIONAluminum framing shall have a 2 1/2" face widthand a depth of 7 3/8" or 5 3/4" - (Architect tospecify) and provide for flush glazing withoutprojecting stops. Optional low profile vent(Architect to specify) Maximum vent 60" x 36".
OPTIONS
Incorporating standard Marlin project-out windowsand all glass structural glazed vents.
Various beauty cap depths and profiles.
Fiber glass pressure plate in lieu of aluminum.
Steel reinforcing
Standard and custom sunshades.
SEISMICSystem shall be tested to withstand seismicracking without loss of integrity.
PERFORMANCESystem 60 test in accordance with AAMA 501 andmeet the requirements of ASTM E 331 for waterpenetration, and ASTM E 330 for structuralperformance. Deflection of mullions shall belimited to L/175 when subjected to the projectdesign pressure of _____P.S.F. (Architect tospecify).
System 60 NFRC Simulation test in accordancewith ANSI/NFRC 100, Procedure for DeterminingFenestration Product U-Factors (2014),ANSI/NFRC 200, Procedure for DeterminingFenestration Product Solar Heat Gain Coefficientsat Normal Incidence (2014), NFRC 500, Prodecurefor Determining Fenestration ProductCondensation Resistance Values (2014)
GLAZINGMarlin system 60 shall accommodate 1" glazing asrequired. Provisions for 1/4" glazing shall beaccommodated by use of an adapter.
INSTALLATIONExperienced workman in accordance withapproved shop drawings shall install system 60.Glass and framing shall be installed straight,plumb, and level without twisting and securelyanchored in place. All joints between framing andthe building exterior shall be sealed to provide awatertight installation.
PROTECTION AND CLEANINGThe General Contractor shall provide adequateprotection of the aluminum and glass surfaces fromdamage by grinding compound, lime, acids,cement or other contaminants. The GeneralContractor shall be responsible for final cleaning.
