    Dear Sir,

    INTRODUCTION

    Sahiwal is situated on the Karachi-Lahore railway line in 1865 when it was named

    Montgomery after Sir Robert Montgomery. It took its current name in 1966.It is the

    administrative centre of Sahiwal District and Sahiwal Division. The districts of Okara

    and Pakpattan are under Sahiwal division. Sahiwal lies approximately 180 km from the

    major city of Lahore. And it is the biggest city between Lahore and Multan. As it is the

    oldest city and it is gaining the popularity. Now the government has decided for

    development of Sahiwal. For this purpose a huge budget is sanctioned. But the main

    problem is that where to spend this huge amount of budget that will create a lot of value.

    There is a great debate going on that what to do for this purpose. A lot of research is

    conducted for this purpose that how to maximize the value of this development budget.

    The purpose of this research is to evaluate what is the best way to utilize this

    development budget. So this research will enable you to invest in a proper manner. This

    research will evaluate the choice of the people living in Sahiwal that what they actually

    want and what will be the real development in their prospect.

    In the context of retail generation around the area of Sahiwal, the city council wishes to

    conduct a study to better understand how residents in the area of Sahiwal, use the retail

    and other facilities in Sahiwal. There is a lot of debate about the need for more retail

    centers and stores around Sahiwal especially in the context of the growing of popularity

    of Internet shopping and the increasing problem of traffic congestion in the city. A lot of

    research is going on that what people want and what is their choice moreover for the

    people who want to invest where they want to invest.

    PROPOSAL

    In this research our main area of concentration will be the development of Sahiwal. We

    will research that how many people want to see new large retail outlet in Sahiwal. As

    Sahiwal is the middle of Multan and Lahore. And surroundings of Sahiwal are also

    interested in these shopping malls and retail outlets. As sometime people have to travel to

    Lahore or to Multan for purchasing.

    Objectives

    It is not only up to the people who want to see retail outlets in Sahiwal and shop from

    there but it is also up to those people who are intended to buy shops at these shopping

    malls and who want to invest in such a place. So this research is very important as the

    budget is to spend on the activity that is important for the people who want convenience

    and those people who are interested in investment and those who want employment so

    this research will tell you that is there any need for shopping malls and retail outlets in

    city Sahiwal or not and how to spend this development budget on this plan.

    Methodology

    In my research, I wish to explore all the facts about what the people actually want. I will

    conduct interviews from four main large retail stores working currently in Sahiwal. In

    each retail store I will conduct interview from five customers. After completing the work

    from customer I will meet some business men and conduct interviews from them that

    whether they are interested in investment. Through these means I will collect and analyze

    qualitative and quantitative data on the following characteristics of Sahiwal people:

    demographics, family structures, community structures, local transportation access and

    systems.

    Data Collection

    Primary Data

    We will prepare questioner to reveal peoples demand. Therefore, observation will be our

    way to prove out hypothesis.

    As Secondary Data

    We also expect to get some information from authorized persons of the Chamber of

    Commerce Sahiwal

    Question to Ask

    1. For the residents of Sahiwal, how frequently do they shop in Sahiwal?

    2. What other shopping centers (e.g. Okara, pakpatan) or types (e.g. internet) do Sahiwal

    residents use?

    3. How do they choose between the alternative shopping centers (e.g. ease of parking,range of shop types)? Can the shopping centers be ranked according to preference based

    on the attributes that you determine as important?

    4. For those residents that principally use Sahiwal, what mode of transport to this center

    is more normally used? For those that drive, what is their willingness to pay for

    traveling?

    After collecting the data I will submit this proposal to COMSATS Institute ofInformation and Technology for approval.

    will perform the assigned duty efficiently and accordingly. Team member will be
