1 - EXCECUTIVE SUMMARY
Our event highlights the expertise in culinary which includes the nation’s favourite celebrity chef,
Chef Wan, as one of the VIP during the open ceremony. Chef Wan’s appearance is a strategic
marketing tool for all stakeholders partaking the exhibition. Another culinary expert sharing his potent
culinary knowledge is our very own faculty’s Head of Food Service and Management Department, Asc
Prof Dr Shahrim.
Promoting the theme of ‘celebrating world cultures’, we welcome companies and NGO that
are able to promote the richness and varied mix of Malaysian and multinational F & B products and
services. However, non-food industries supports are also welcomed.
Thus, this event serves as an excellent platform to create awareness and demand for
potential market in the heart of main campus UPM. Strategically surrounded by 8 faculties,
administration building, main library, central parking area and 4 bus stops (for UPM shuttle buses); IFF can
expect traffic of well-over 4000 students and 1000 staff members, including surrounding
residents.

25,000 students (all UPM local & international, undergraduates and postgraduates – age range
from 18 onwards)
5000 staff members (including Vice Chancellor, Dean(s), professors, lecturers, senior officers and
tutors.)
Over 150,000 residents in Serdang area and areas around it.
Students from other IPTA/IPTS and primary /secondary schools which UPM MarComm
(Office of Marketing and Communications) are targeted
Press media from main stream papers are coming! They are The Star, NST, Sin Chew, China Press

An inter-varsiity cooking competition took place. And the UPM team was the
eventual winner (picture on the right).
Top notch judges were involved including the regular Masterchef Malaysia judge,
Chef Jo.
