Indonesia only adapts parts of the Code of Marketingof Breastmilk Substitutes. We only regulate the

marketing of infant formula 0-12 months & growing upformula from 12 months & beyond unfortunatelly are

marketed freely.

According to Indonesian HealthDemographic Survey 2017, thebreastfeeding exclusive rates is 52%

Mother S gave birth to her baby 15 daysago. Baby N was born healthy & weighed 3kg. It was an emergency ceaseran procedurebecause the obgyn said mother S has a lowhemoglobin count even though she wasdialeted for 7 cm. She did the rapid & swabtest in the OR (after she's in the hospital for12 hours) & she didn't show any sign orsymptomps of COVID-19. After the babywas born, mother S & baby N wasseparated for 4 days even though the rapidtest shown negative. While in hospital, thebaby was formula fed. Mother S called metoday (May 19, 2020) for 1 hour & criedbecause she couldn't latch her baby & shefeels like she's failing as a mother.

This account was owned by a former aid of Social AffairsMinistry of Indonesia whose now become the East JavaProvince Governor where the area of distribution of freeGUM. He tagged some of Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) ontwitter asked them to retweet the info & unfortunately someKOL did retweet it. After we gave comments on this, the nextday, the profile ID changed & deleted the part stating "expertof staff to the Minister of Social Affairs".

This is a campaign done by 'milenials' wherethey collect fund and distribute the money ina form of food to give out to parents whoneed formula. We are still trying to find outwhere they got the formula & to whom theyare giving it to. They are using hashtag 100can formula if you post the pic with the frameon your instagram & people donate 1 can offormula.

Sari Husada Mombassador

01SGM is one of the biggestformula brand in Indonesiaown by Sari Husada whichis part of Danone.

02They created theMombassador programwhere they recruitedmothers who are active insocial media to be their GUMambassador.

They invited them to seetheir factory, held classes onnutrition & how to writecontent for social media.They also have bonus pointsas rewards.

Dancow from Nestle using mothersto hold gatherings in theircommunity to promote their GUMproduct. They trained mothers astheir 'cadres'.
