Before you launch your event, make sure that your website is updated with information about the event, the cause and the mission. You can either create a special website for the event or add a special page to your existing website where visitors can find information for the event. Here is some information you should include:

• Event dates

• Ticketing links

• Event details and lineup

• Information about the organization, the cause and the mission

• A tab to accept donations (if applicable)

• A link to your online store (if applicable)

• Sponsor logos (if you have them, these can also be added later as you secure them)

Images are crucial in event marketing. Images can represent the vibe of the event as well as make the event irresistible.

Here are some image ideas to help you increase fan engagement:

• THE CAUSE: Visually represent how this event will impact your cause.

• FAN SPOTLIGHT: Fans love to see themselves spotlighted. If you have images of fans from previous events, be sure to use them. If this is the first year, ask fans to share pictures on social media during the event and retweet/repost them.

• FOOD: Nothing gets fans running through the door faster than the promise of food. If you have a spectacular menu, share it with images!

• EXCLUSIVE IMAGES: If you can, provide an insider’s view of the event during set up or of the band’s green room.

USE THE RIGHT IMAGES

Leading up to your event, there are different stages of event planning that you should make sure social content is being scheduled for:

• The announcement

• The presale (some events choose to do a presale and give special access to patrons or attendees from last year)

• The onsale (be sure to tag sponsors in these posts to expand your reach!)

• 90 days out announcement

• 60 days out announcement

• 30 days out announcement

• 15 days out announcement

• Day before announcement (is there anything you should remind fans of, like what to leave at home?)

You’ve secured event and corporate sponsors to help offset the cost of the event. Leading up to the event and during the event tag your sponsors in social media posts.

Gain more exposure with Facebook Official Events. Add sponsors as event hosts on Facebook Official Events to increase your reach and target their audience.

Make it easy for sponsors to promote the event. Provide sponsors with templated copy for social media posts as well as images to help promote the event. Include the link to tickets, your own handle and event hashtags!
