“Yee Jy Wong gong ”, meaning Mr. Wong.

The characters 光緒十一年十一月初六寅時 on the left side of the brick

indicated the exact time of the man’s death: “Guangxu 11 nian 11 yue chu

liu yinshi”, meaning the yin hour of the sixth day of the eleventh lunar

month of the Guangxu era. This is equivalent to the time between 3 and

5 am, December 11, 1885.
