Mark 4:35-3835 As evening came, Jesus said to his disciples, “Let’s

cross to the other side of the lake.” 36 So they took Jesus in the boat and started out, leaving the crowds behind

(although other boats followed). 37 But soon a fierce storm came up. High waves were breaking into the

boat, and it began to fill with water.38 Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his

head on a cushion. The disciples woke him up, shouting, “Teacher, don’t you care that we’re going to drown?”

James 1:2-4Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its

work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

Page 13: Mark 4:35-38

In storms, we want God to do a removing job.

He wants to do an improving job.

Page 14: Mark 4:35-38

We want God to alleviate our problem when God wants to purify our faith through it.

Mark 4:39-40He got up, rebuked the wind and said to

the waves, "Quiet! Be still!" Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. He

said to his disciples, "Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?"
