“La teoría física de cuerdas supone la existencia de dimensiones inaccesibles a nuestra percepción.

Para pensar la posibilidad de múltiples infinitos, que corresponderían a cada una de las dimensiones

desconocidas, necesitamos imaginar distintos universos a partir de condiciones diversas. La génesis de

estas diferencias estaría dada por los distintos movimientos de unas ínfimas partículas: las cuerdas. “

“The Quantum Physics’ String Theory, suggests that our reality is made up of tiny strings, that these

strings are behind the observable physical phenomenon that make up our physical world. It suggests

that reality is made up of tiny strings of energy that vibrate. The frequency of their vibrations

determines the outcome and behaviour of the particles we know to be real. According to string

theory, matter is the manifestation of the vibrational frequency of the string. This is my own Universe

made by my cotton strings and the multidimensions of my acrylic painting on canvas”

D esde que recuerdo, los textiles han sido parte integral de mi vida. Comencé admirando

los tejidos indígenas, y me fascinaron los lampazos mexicanos, esos tejidos de algodón

crudo que resisten todo y más, y que han formado parte de lo cotidiano en cada casa en

Mesoamérica. Por eso, comencé pintándolos hace diez años, para luego crear una instalación con

ellos y pasar a tejer trenzas en diferentes telas, para luego pintarlas, hasta desembocar en estos

mapas cuánticos que son un híbrido entre pintura al acrílico, al aerosol, maderas y urdimbres.

Los humildes lampazos fueron los maestros de la trama que vengo repitiendo primero con el pincel

y hoy en técnica mixta, al adentrarme en los postulados de la física cuántica y su teoría de las

supercuerdas, que propone científicamente lo que los mayas ya decían como principio, en su

lengua, IN’LAKESH, que significa “Yo soy tú, tú eres yo, Todos somos Uno”.

De acuerdo con esta teoría, todo en el universo, (compuesto de múltiples universos, uno de los

cuales habitamos), estaría conformado e interrelacionado por un solo tejido, cuyo proceso de

manifestación estaría condicionado a la manera en la que tejemos nuestros pensamientos y

emociones todos y cada uno, siendo que lo que observamos se convierte para nuestro universo

interior en nuestra verdad, la que se teje con la verdad de otra persona que observa de otra

manera lo mismo que nosotros observamos, dando como resultado que este Universo es un tejido

de multidimensiones que se cruzan, se anudan, se rompen o se enredan, urdiendo la trama de

estos mapas que son el resultado de realidades paralelas, de las que si tomáramos consciencia,

aprenderíamos que no existe una sola verdad, sino todas son una, que se sobreponen unas a otras.

Por ejemplo, yo soy artista, al mismo tiempo soy madre y esposa, hermana y amiga, también soy

hija e investigadora del tejido y el color en todos los niveles, trabajadora y mucho más, ahora, ¿qué

de todo eso es Mariu? Todos y cada rol, son yo misma, se sobreponen y existen a la vez, paralelos.

Entonces, de igual manera, ¿quién tiene la razón en una discusión, si cada persona defiende “su “

verdad? Estos mapas cuánticos proponen que aceptemos nuestra fenomenología diversa y

múltiple, para aceptar “al otro”, tanto el que vive en nosotros, que nos juzga a veces tan

duramente, como al de afuera, a nuestro vecino, que también es juzgado desde nuestra dimensión.

Estos mapas cuánticos son nuestros mapas, nuestro cotidiano y nuestras vidas, una propuesta para

aprender a vivir en tolerancia y aceptación del tejido universal del que estamos a cargo, y mejorar

así, los mapas del mundo en que vivimos. Este es también, un tributo a mi padre, psiquiatra de

profesión, quien me enseñó a observar mis pensamientos y emociones, como un todo, y no como

acontecimientos aislados.

S ince I remember, textiles have been an integral part of my life. I started admiring

aboriginal textiles when I first got my hands on a Mexican mop. These unbleached cotton

fabrics that resist everything and more, and have been part of everyday life in every home

in Mesoamerica, simbolyze my first contact with textiles and color. So I started painting

them ten years ago, and then I built an installation with them and then I knitted braids in different

fabrics, as models for my paintings, before landing into these quantum maps that are a hybrid

between acrylic painting, spay paint, wood and warps .

The humble swabs were the masters of the weft that I have been retaking with the brush and mixed

media these days, introducing myself into the postulates of quantum physics and string theory,

which proposes scientifically what the Mayans already said as a motto in their language,

IN'LAKESH, meaning "I am you, you are me, we all are One".

According to this theory, everything in the universe, (composed of multiple universes, one of which

we inhabit), would be formed and interconnected by a single tissue, whose process of manifestation

would be conditioned to the way we weave our thoughts and emotions. According to this, what we

observe becomes our inner universe and our truth, which is woven with the truth of another person

observing otherwise the same idea we are observing, resulting that this Universe is a fabric of multi-

dimensions that cross, knot, break or get tangled, weaving the fabric of these quantum maps which

are the result of parallel realities that if we are aware, we can learn that there is no single truth, but

all truths overlapped, become THE truth.

For instance, I am an artist and at the same time I am a mother and a wife, a sister and a friend, I

am also daughter and a researcher of fabrics and colors at all levels, hard worker and much more.

Now which of these roles is the real Mariu? Every role it is me, overlapped and simultaneous,

parallel beings of being. So, likewise, who is the right in an argument, if everyone defends "hes or

her" truth? These quantum maps propose the acceptance of our diverse and multiple

phenomenology in order to accept "the other", "he/she" and "me" living within, judging us

sometimes so hard as we judge our neighbor.

These quantum maps are our maps, our every day, a proposal to learn to live in tolerance and

universal acceptance of the Universal tissue we are in charge, and thus improve the maps of the

world in which we live. This is also a tribute to my father, a psychiatrist, who taught me to observe

my thoughts and emotions, as a whole, and not as isolated events.

manifestar la materia que llamamos fenómenos físicos, ¿o no? Esto nos da el sentido de que creamos nuestra propia

realidad a través de nuestras creencias, y la frecuencia en la que vibramos, juega un papel central en la manifestación de

esa realidad”.

“ We are all atoms that vibrate at the human frequency. The rate and nature of our vibration (human beings) is responsible

for manifesting the matter that we call physical phenomenon, is it not? This gives further credence to the suggestion that

we create our own reality, and the rate which we vibrate at plays a very significant role in manifesting physical reality. “

“En los modelos basados en la física cuántica, que investigo, un

infinito océano fluctúa formando branas, membranas de

cuerdas vibratorias. Podemos imaginar que cada universo se

podría considerar una burbuja de cuerdas que se infla en un

universo que se expande.

De igual manera, fragmentos, tiras de memoria nos hacen creer

una cosa u otra, según elegimos en la expansión de la mente.

Estas Branas se están formando, como se forman en mi mente o en la suya, las ideas.

Así también, el pincel se escurre sobre el aceite y forma el color que se une con otro y se desplaza, formulando una nueva luz o

sombra, que define lo que percibimos según nuestros universos mentales.

Así que estas son unas Branas flotando en el cosmos de las multidimensiones mentales de quienes las observen.

“The infinite world of possibilities of elementary particles is the

basis of human freedom,” says writer Alicia Montesdeoca and

Mariu F. Lacayo follows the course of these particles, knitting the

lines of our lives through the emotions attached to the skin, such

as oil or acrylic on canvas, that we pull off in the same way she

sands off fragments of the overlaying colors, map of multiple

expriences that build the crust of our being plotted in this

dimension, that contrary to what we believe – that time

moves forward-, really everything happens in parallel

interdimensions, hence the theory of multiverses that Mariu

paints, scrapes, sands and charts, weaving layer by layer.

Similarly, our unconscious, keeps our every human experience in

its dark memory that suddenly jumps into light as the tones of

each layer of color that abruptly breaks the artist, bringing into

light lines that cross over multiple underlying colors,

previous experiences learned and inherited. These are

her quantum maps, remarkable hybridizations that are unique

because of their language and symbolic wealth.”

Curriculum resumido Mariu F. Lacayo María Eugenia Fonseca de Lacayo nació en Managua Nicaragua el 23 de junio de 1962, realizó estudios en Nicaragua, España, Italia y México. Realizó estudios de Historia del Arte con críticos de la altura de Milagros Bello, Bélgica Rodrí-guez y Dolores Torres. Fue alumna de Reynaldo Hernández notable profesor de pintura que estableció una escuela de artes plásticas en Nicaragua. Expuso en diferentes exposiciones colectivas en diversas Galerías de Arte de Nicaragua, Honduras y México. Dirigió va-rias escenografías en el teatro Nacional Rubén Darío. Participó en la elaboración del libro Hospitalidad Nicaragüense; fue promotora de arte y decoración en Ponte Vecchio, centro de objeto artísticos y decorativos. María Eugenia Fonseca Lacayo was born in Nicaragua Managua on June 23, 1972. She studied in Nicaragua, Spain, Italy and Mexico. Her studies focused on art history with curator Milagros Bello, Bélgica Rodriguez and Dolores Torres. She was also a student of Reynaldo Hernández, noted professor of painting established a fine arts school in Nicaragua. Nowadays, she researches and works under the coaching of Guatemalan curator MA Marcela Valdeavellano, since her elaborations around the quantum String Theory, has led her to the proposal of fiber hybridizations over her former pictorial language.She has exhibited in numerous art galleries in Nicaragua, Honduras, Mexico and the U.S. She also designed several sets for plays, ballet and opera, at the Ruben Dario National Theater in Nicaragua.Her participation in the preparation of the book “Nicaraguan Hospitality” is relevant. By the same time, she founded “Ponte Vecchio”, a service of interior designing and functional art.
