Maritime Turbo Scrubber

We transform environmental issues into sustainable solutions

PureteQ has developed, manufactured and patented an entirely new scrubber system for the purification of flue gas. With its hydrodynamic fluid distribution system, the PureteQ Maritime Turbo Scrubber outperforms most traditional scrubber systems in terms of weight, efficiency and build-in options.

A specially designed turbo quench allows for rapid and efficient cooling of exhaust gas prior to SOx removal, while temperature is reduced by more than 75% in less than 0.2s.

Design Criteria

• Weighs 30 to 40% less than standard scrubbers

• Energy efficient, less power consumption

• Open loop, closed loop or hybrid• Can be placed horizontally,

vertically or anything in between to minimize structural work on retrofit

• Fitted as in-line system, easy to retrofit

• Capacity from 4 MW to 20 MW per scrubber

• No packed bed ensures minimal back pressure

• State-of-the-art HMI system that is compatible with most SCADA systems

The PureteQ Maritime Turbo Scrubber is equipped with multistage SOx removal to ensure energy efficiency and effective reduction of flue gas sulfur, regardless of fluctuations in engine loads. Storage tanks for chemicals, process water, and sludge are individually optimized to reduce footprint and weight. The system is available in two versions: open loop or hybrid as illustrated.
