This course provides an overview of the PREP and CREDO programs offered aboard Camp Pendleton. Presented by MCFTB and the CREDO Chaplain, participants will receive certification that is valid indefinitely.

7 HABITS OF HIGHLY EFFECTIVE MILITARY FAMILIESOffered to all service members and their families. Along with the normal challenges of family life, military families must also deal with added stressors such as relocation and deployment. Based on the original principles of Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, this workshop provides a framework for applying universal, self-evident principles that enable family members to communicate more effectively about their problems and resolve them successfully. Unit specific sessions can be scheduled via Command Request, by the FRO or DFRO. To do so, reference or refer to the LifeSkills section.

7 HABITS OF HIGHLY EFFECTIVE PEOPLE (SIGNATURE COURSE)Offered to all service members and their families. In this 3-day workshop, participants gain hands-on experience, applying timeless principles that yield improved communication, strengthened relationships, increased influence, and laser-like focus on critical priorities. The course also includes over 30 award-winning videos. Unit specific sessions cannot be scheduled for this training.

5 CHOICES TO EXTRAORDINARY PRODUCTIVITYOffered to all staff level Officers and Staff Non-Commissioned Officers (SNCOs), nominated by Unit Commanders. In FranklinCovey’s 5 Choices to Extraordinary Productivity course, participants learn a process which, when followed, will dramatically increase their ability to achieve life’s most important outcomes. Backed by science and years of research, this course will produce a measurable increase in productivity and an inner sense of fulfillment and accomplishment. This time and life management workshop will help you make the right choices as you plan your day, week and life. You will align your daily and weekly tasks with the most important goals. You will move from being buried alive to extraordinary productivity! Unit specific sessions cannot be scheduled for this training.

4 LENSESOffered to all service members and their families. This fun, interactive workshop will help assess and evaluate individual’s personality preference while learning to value and understand the personality preferences of those around them. Participants learn how to open the lines of communication, reduce personal misunderstandings, and strengthen their relationships, both personally and professionally. Several activities are utilized to demonstrate the differences among personalities and how to better communicate and relate with one another. Completing this workshop and implementing the tools into daily life will empower participants to improve aspects of every relationship in their lives. Unit specific sessions can be scheduled via Command Request, by the FRO or DFRO. To do so, contact the LifeSkills section.

4 LENSES FOR COUPLES-DATE NIGHTOffered to service members and their date (spouse, girlfriend/boyfriend, significant other, etc.) This interactive workshop allows participants to discover the different ways that we view family and relationships and how to: resolve conflicts; clarify expectations; increase love and intimacy and build mutually rewarding relationships. The principles covered in this workshop empower participants to improve aspects of every personal relationship in their life. Unit specific sessions can be scheduled via Command Request, by the FRO or DFRO. To do so, refer to the LifeSkills section.

4 LENSES: COLORING YOUR CHILDRENThis workshop is for any parent who wants to better understand their child’s personality. Participants will learn how personality is apparent in young children, how to cultivate and nurture a child’s natural talents and strengths, and how to effectively discipline misbehavior. Unit specific sessions can be scheduled via Command Request, by the FRO or DFRO. To do so, contact the LifeSkills section.

THE 5 LOVE LANGUAGES FOR COUPLES-DATE NIGHTOffered to service members and their date (spouse, girlfriend/boyfriend, significant other, etc.). Based on the work of Dr. Gary Chapman, this class helps participants to identify their “Language” of love as well as their partner’s “Love Language”. By generating this understanding of one’s self and each other, couples learn to appreciate the differences within each other and ways to most effectively express love to their partner and ask for love from their partner. This is an interactive class with couples learning and then immediately applying the new skills. Unit specific sessions can be scheduled via Command Request, by the FRO or DFRO. To do so, contact the LifeSkills section.

THE CHANGE ELEMENT Offered to all service members and their families. The goal of the workshop is to help participants deal with difficult changes through a better understanding of change and learning valuable skills that allow them to face change with less stress and more success. The Change Element is based on decades of work helping organizations, large and small, change successfully. It provides practical tools, like the Change Model™, to help people understand what exactly happens during change, where they are in the process, and what they should do next. Unit specific sessions cannot be scheduled for this training.

THE HAPPINESS ADVANTAGEOffered to all service members and their families. Most companies, schools, even families follow this formula: if you work harder, you will be more successful, and then you will be happy. Recent discoveries, however, have shown that this formula is actually backward: happiness fuels success, not the other way around. A decade of research shows that training your brain to be positive at work actually fuels greater success. In fact, 75% of job success is predicted not by intelligence, but by your optimism, social support network and the ability to manage energy and stress in a positive way. Through research of top performers at Harvard, the world’s largest banks, and Fortune 500 companies, patterns have been uncovered which create a happiness advantage for positive outliers—the highest performers at the company. This workshop has a mixture of videos and interactive group work to keep participants engaged. Unit specific sessions can be scheduled via Command Request, by the FRO or DFRO. To do so, refer to the LifeSkills section.

SAY WHAT?!? INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATIONOffered to all service members and their families. This workshop is an educational experience to increase competence by using more effective communication skills to promote healthy relationships (of any kind). The focus is preventative in nature, enabling service members and their families to function more effectively at home and at work, thereby supporting personal self-sufficiency and operational readiness in the field. Unit specific sessions can be scheduled via Command Request, by the FRO or DFRO. To do so, refer to the LifeSkills section.

BUILDING LASTING RELATIONSHIPSOffered to all service members and their families. This workshop provides practical information and tools to enhance healthy relationships and educate service members and their partners on how to successfully nurture and maintain a positive union. It is designed to be preventative in nature by teaching and demonstrating positive, proactive ways to build a healthy, lasting relationship. This class is designed for couples to attend together however; individuals are welcome to attend as well. Unit specific sessions can be scheduled via Command Request, by the FRO or DFRO. To do so, refer to the LifeSkills section.

HOW TO AVOID FALLING IN LOVE WITH A JERK/JERKETTEOffered only for unit specific training, this workshop targets Marines and Sailors prior to being in a serious relationship. Based on years of research on marital and premarital happiness, this workshop will help participants break destructive dating patterns that prevent them from finding the love they deserve. Topics include asking the right questions to inspire meaningful, revealing conversations with your partner and how to resolve some of their own emotional baggage to prepare them for a healthy relationship. Certificates are valid indefinitely. Unit specific sessions can be scheduled via Command Request, by the FRO or DFRO. To do so, refer to the LifeSkills section.
