Euan Shields, cello soloist

Euan Shields first took up the cello when he was eight years old after seeing a quartet playing in the park in Tokyo. Growing up in Japan and moving to San Francisco two years ago, playing music has been a great way for Euan to bridge the culture gap. He was first seat of the Presidio Middle School orchestra and in the eighth grade was principle cellist for the San Francisco All City Orchestra. He is currently a freshman at Lick-Wilmerding High School. He is studying under Louella Hasbun, a noted musician who performs with the San Jose and Marin Symphonies. Euan is excited playing his first season with MSYO. Outside of music, he enjoys playing soccer, rock climbing and camping.

Jeremy Goldwasser, flute soloist

Jeremy Goldwasser began playing flute in the Bel Aire Elementary School Band when he was 10 years old. A student of MSYO manager Andrei Gorchov, Jeremy originally played chess before switching his focus to music. He has participated in music summer camps like Cazadero and Sequoia Chamber Music Workshop, in addition to performing in many recitals and concerts. Currently he is a freshman at Redwood High. Recently Jeremy has expanded his horizons by playing jazz flute; he takes after flutists in pop culture like Jethro Tull and Ron Burgundy. Also, he often plays for Shabbat services at his synagogue. In addition to music, Jeremy still enjoys playing chess, as well as skiing and hiking.

Douglas Wei, violin soloist

Douglas Wei is 14 years old and has been playing violin for 6 years. He has been studying violin with Davis Law. Douglas grew up in Novato his whole life. For his pastime, he enjoys swimming, practicing tai chi, and playing strategy board games.
