Marian Pilgrimage

Fr. Pat will be leading a Marian Pilgrimage next

summer, June 24-July 5 to Portugal, Spain and

France. The pilgrimage includes the holy sites

of Fatima, Santiago de Compostela, Garaban-

dal, Lourdes and La Sagrada Familia Catedral in Barcelona.

Cost is $3,890.00 per person, double occupancy. For more

Al-Anon Support Group

There is no magic formula that enables

you to help someone stop—or cut back—on

his or her drinking or drug use. Alcoholism

and Drug Addiction are a complex problems, with many

related issues. But Al‑Anon can help you learn how to

cope with the challenges of someone else’s addiction.

Our Parish Al-Anon Support Group meets the

second and fourth Tuesday of every month in Room # 6.

Our meeting dates for the month of February are the 12th

and 26th. All are welcome!

Saint Blasé Saint Blase was the bishop of Sebaste in Armenia during the fourth century. Very little is known about his life. According to various accounts he was a physician before becoming a bish-op. His religion spread throughout the entire Church in the Middle Ages because he was reputed to have miraculously cured a little boy who nearly died because of a fishbone in his throat. From the eighth century he has been invoked on be-half of the sick, especially those afflicted with illnesses of the throat.

BULLETIN ANNOUNCEMENT NO. 2

Last weekend you noticed the first of what will be many communications in our bulletin for the up-

coming On the Way - ¡Ándale Capital Campaign. This is an exciting time for our parish and parishes

throughout the archdiocese. This campaign will have a tremendous impact on the needs of our parish while

also enabling our vibrant and growing archdiocese to address the bright future of the Church in South Cen-

tral Texas.

Over the last few months, with the help of lay leadership at Holy Family Parish and the archdiocese,

we have identified our most pressing needs as a parish. We have chosen to repair and remodel the parish

hall with our share of the funds raised through our upcoming On the Way - ¡Ándale! Capital Campaign.

The campaign will be led by Father Pat and chaired by Sally Carrion. Together, we have recruited a

team of volunteers to assist with this important effort and to help prepare our campaign communication

materials.

We will be officially kicking off the On the Way - ¡Ándale! Capital Campaign at Masses on February

23-24, 2019.

Here are some frequently asked questions about the On the Way - ¡Ándale! Capital Campaign:

Why is the archdiocese conducting a capital campaign now?

The Archdiocese of San Antonio currently serves a growing population of 2.6 million people in 19

counties throughout South Central Texas. Our growth as a faith community is truly a blessing. However, ex-

tensive investment is needed to continue to build and grow our parishes, vocations, lay education programs

and schools, and to meet the human and spiritual needs of the nearly 200,000 more Catholics moving into

our area over the next decade. After years of listening, planning and the positive result of a planning study,

Archbishop Gustavo determined that now is the time to inspire great generosity from God’s people, to ad-

vance our mission into the future.

What is the goal of the On the Way - ¡Ándale! Capital Campaign?

The $60 million campaign will fund a diverse balance of critical pastoral and financial needs. Each

parish will have its own determined fundraising target and, with the percentage of funds returned to each

parish, will be able to address its determined priority projects. Parishioners will be invited to pledge their

faithful generosity over a three-year period.

Will all of the parishes participate in the campaign?

Yes, every parish and mission across the archdiocese will participate in the On the Way - ¡Ándale

Capital Campaign sometime between May 2017 and January 2019.

Adult Confirmation Classes

Confirmation is the Gift of the Holy Spirit activat-

ing the graces we receive in Baptism. Together with the

Eucharist, it completes our initiation into the Church.

If you are a baptized Catholic adult, 18 years of

age or older, attended religious education classes as a

child/youth and have not celebrated the Sacrament of

Confirmation (and/or Eucharist), our parish is offering a

six-week course to prepare adults to be

confirmed. These sessions begin Thursday, February

28th, 6:30 - 8:00 pm in the office conference room. The

classes will be offered in English.

To register, please stop by the Parish Office to

pick up a form to complete. In addition, please obtain a

copy of your baptismal certificate from the parish of your

baptism. You will need to bring it with you the first night

we gather.

Pastoral Council Meeting

Our next Pastoral Council Meeting will be

on Thursday, February 14 at 6:30pm in

the Office Conference Room. Leaders of

all ministries and organizations are asked

Lenten Small Faith Sharing Groups Lent invites us to a time of prayer, reflec-

tion, and conversion. This Lenten Season

parishioners are encouraged to join our

small faith sharing groups. We will be us-

ing the program called, LENTEN LONG-

INGS, to help deepen our faith in Jesus

Christ. To join a group, form your own group or share in a

group with your family members, please call the parish

office and leave your name and contact information. We

will be ordering the material and need a count of partici-

pants by February 8th. The week before Lent we will dis-

tribute the materials to the various groups.

La Cuaresma nos invita a un tiempo de oración, reflexión

y conversión. Se anima a los feligreses de esta tempora-

da de Cuaresma a unirse a nuestros pequeños grupos de

nuestra fe en Jesucristo. Para unirse a un grupo, forme
