At the moment Christ received the highest of all titles— “Son of the living God!”- He prophesied His greatest humiliation: the Cross. Simon Peter, puffed up with the authority Christ had just given him: “You are Peter, the Rock; and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall never prevail against it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of Heaven…” (Matthew 16:18,19) began to rebuke Jesus: “No Lord, this shall never happen to you.” (Matthew 16:22) Peter would accept the Divinity of Christ; he would never accept a suffering Christ with a Cross. At this point the “Rock” becomes a “stumbling stone”: and Christ called him Satan: “Away with you, Satan; you are a stumbling-block to me. In September we honor the mystery of the Holy Cross as the divine instrument for the Redemption and salvation of the human race. On September 14th we celebrate the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. After Simon Peter made his bold confession of faith in the divinity of Christ: “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” (Matthew 16:16) Jesus spoke openly of His death—He had waited to do this until His Apostles believed Him to be God so that they would view His death in the proper light as a sacrifice for sins. You think as men think, not as God thinks.” (Matthew 16:23)

Fatima in prostrating ourselves before the Eucharistic Victim for our sins. Archbishop Paul Coakley of Oklahoma City has written an open letter asking for prayers of reparation for a planned Satanic so-called “Black Mass” at the Civic Center Music Hall in Oklahoma

City on September 21st: “ Even though tickets are being sold for this event as if it were merely some sort of dark entertainment, this Satanic ritual is deadly serious. It is a blasphemous and obscene inversion of the Catholic Mass. Using a Consecrated Host obtained illicitly from a Catholic Church and desecrating it in the vilest ways imaginable, the practitioners offer it in sacrifice to Satan. “….I am asking that each parish conduct a Eucharistic Holy Hour with Benediction to honor Christ’s Real Presence in the Holy Eucharist…. and to avert this proposed sacrilege.” With the Archangel St. Michael and all the holy Angels, in union with the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary and St. Joseph, we will multiply Holy Hours and Communions of Reparation at the Blue Army center, and at St. Stephen Church, New Boston. Every Sunday in September and October we will have a Holy Hour at 3 p.m. at St. Stephen Church to make reparation to Our Lord Who suffers such indignities at the hands of His enemies. The Holy Hours will consist of the recitation of the Rosary, Vespers and Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament. God forgive us for so many outrages and sacrileges against the Blessed Lord Jesus in the Holy Eucharist! God forgive us for the sins against His Virgin Mother.

Satan hates the Cross of Jesus because it means the redemption of the world and his ultimate defeat. In a weak moment Peter had let Satan in his heart and he becomes a stumbling stone on the road to Calvary. Peter thought it was unworthy of Christ to suffer; but to our Lord such thoughts were human, carnal and even Satanic. Only by Divine Revelation did Peter confess Jesus as Son of God. It would require another Divine Illumination for Peter to know Him as the Redeemer and Divine Victim for sin. Like Satan, Peter wanted Jesus to be a Teacher of ethics and not the Suffering Messiah” The Cross is a “must” for the mission of Jesus in the great work of Redemption. Only through the Cross could Christ arrive at the Resurrection and eternal glory in Heaven. Only through the Cross could Christ give us the Church and the mystery of the Holy Eucharist. It is comforting for us to know that even though Peter rejects the Cross of Jesus, and, in turn, is called “Satan” by the Lord, the foundation of the Church can never be destroyed by Simon’s personal errors and sins. Human error and folly, sin and death, and even hell itself can never destroy the Church Christ established. Christ promised that the Church would outlast all those who would seek her destruction: Nero, Attila the Hun, Mohammed, Napoleon, Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, Socialism, Communism, ISIS, and even Satan would all be defeated and buried and the Church would remain—albeit a remnant—until Christ comes again in glory to judge the nations. In this month of the Holy Cross, we want to draw near to the “Blessed Fruit” of the Tree of Life—the Cross. The “Blessed Fruit” is Jesus Christ truly Present in the Most Blessed Sacrament of the Altar. Without the Sacrifice of the Cross, there could never be the Divine Banquet, the Blessed Eucharist. For this reason we want to multiply worthy Holy Communions of Reparation and Eucharistic Holy Hours of Reparation to make atonement for all the outrages and sacrileges Christ suffers in the Blessed Sacrament. During the month of the Holy Cross, and through the month of the Holy Rosary, let us imitate the “Angel of Peace” and the children of

Immaculate Heart of Mary, be our refuge!

President’s Corner By: Leonard St. Pierre As the seasons change, and fall approaches, our schedules change and our lives become more hectic and rushed. As the weather changes, let’s

change our hearts too so we may keep the calm and peace we felt during the warm, care free summer months. I have a sure fire way to gain this peace. Let’s incorporate more prayer into our lives. I offer several ways for you and your family to do this. Come to Our Lady of Fatima Chapel for Mass, the Sacrament of Reconciliation and all night adoration of Our Lord. Join us on First Friday, September 5th and Friday, October 3rd for 7pm Mass. Come early at 6:30pm and enjoy praying Our Lady’s special prayer, the rosary, and ask for peace in our world as she has requested at Fatima. Receive the peace of reconciliation by going to confession with Father John Hedges. After Mass, Jesus will be exposed in the Blessed Sacrament on the altar all night. Great peace comes from adoring our Lord in our beautiful chapel. Spend some time with Him; if even for a short period, He’ll bless you with His peace! First Saturday Masses are September 6th and October 4th at 8am with rosary and confession at 7:30am. A great peace will come if you celebrate Mass with us

on Friday, September 12th, at 7pm, The Feast of The Most Holy Name of Mary. What a great way to find peace as we will pray Our Lady’s rosary before Mass and honor her Most Holy Name with each “Hail Mary.” A friendly reminder, Mass is on Friday the 12th not the 13th due to the 13th falling on a Saturday. Finally, Our Lady’s Peace

Plan for the world is to have us pray the rosary, wear the scapular, and make reparation for sinners. Join us on Monday, October 13th as we celebrate Mass and remember the Miracle of the Sun at Fatima and pray for peace in our world. There is no greater way to obtain peace for ourselves, our families and the world than by listening to our Mother’s instructions! Have a peaceful and prayerful fall season and know you’re in my prayers.

“My whole strength lies in prayer and sacrifice, these are my invincible arms; they can move hearts far better than words, I know it by experience.” St. Therese
