Arabic is spoken all over the world, with the largest numbers of Arabic speakers in Algeria, Chad, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Somalia, Sudan, Tanzania, Tunisia, Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, the United Arab Emirates, and Yemen.  There are about 256,000,000 people in the world who can speak Arabic. It is the sixth most widely spoken language.

EgyptThe Great Sphinx and the Pyramids of Giza are major attractions in Egypt.

Algeria

Algiers is the cap i tal city of Alge ria sit u ated on the coast of Mediter ranean Sea. With it’s esti mated pop u la tion of 2 mil lions it is the largest city of this country.

IraqBaghdad (Arabic بغداد = Baghdad) – Iraq’s capital city, population of over 7 million. Located on the west bank of the Tigris is one of the largest cities in the Middle East.

SomaliaDrought in Somalia is threatening two million people, the vast majority living in zones controlled by radical Islamist insurgents where it is impossible to send aid.

TunisiaThe Gulf of Hammamet shelters miles of fine sandy beaches, sparkling seas and modern hotels.

SudanSamaritan’s Purse provides clean water to thousands of people in Sudan’s Nuba Mountains. May through October is the rainy season in the rugged Nuba Mountains of central Sudan. Hillsides turn green, farmers plant sorghum, and streams tumble through the valleys. The rest of the year often passes without a drop of rain. Plants wither under the scorching sun. Rivers dry up, and people dig holes deep in the riverbeds to get even a bucket of muddy water.

We have a growing number of children in our school who speak Arabic. However, we are always keen to learn more.
