What amazes you is the variety ofthe landscape, which is never the same in its stretchingout, and ripe with myriad facets.Maremma is a fresco of sights, mild hills, fields livenedup by man’s work, villages and hamlets, an alternation ofsea and beaches that turn this land into a brimmingmosaic of timeless architectures.
Maremma is one of most beautiful and magical faces ofTuscany. Its inland preserves features that have gone losteverywhere else: it is thriving and full of naturally-fertilefields that give authentic products which an old cookingtradition skilfully matches with the Mediterranean fla-vours of oil and famous wines. The flatland is full of char-ming humid areas, the kingdom of rare wildlife anduncontaminated species.
The open sea gently laps at the coast, where bloomingbeaches, sandy dunes, small bays follow each other andbreak up into coves that host marinas and modern equip-ped beaches.Whilst travelling, guests can learn more about the nature,creativity, civilisation of this way of being and living inMaremma. A land that, like few others, preserves signs ofthe Etruscan civilisation and villages and hamlets wherethe flavour of mediaeval art is still strong.Maremma also means meeting people who have alwayswelcomed and greeted people with such a willingness tobe together, and for travellers it is like finding uniqueatmospheres and a charm that never fails to amaze, allthrough the year.
It is in this area, with its unique charms, that rises one ofthe best golf heavens in Tuscany, with four 18-hole cour-ses and one 9-hole course set in different but still fasci-nating places. Courses where one can put one’s skills tothe test and be strong enough as not to be distracted bythe wonders that surround the fairways.To find out how good, in golf as well, the Maremma canbe for you.

ARGENTARIO GOLF CLUBArgentario Golf Club is located betweenGrosseto and Capalbio - straight into theheart of Maremma-in a protected oasis ofMediterranean bush always offering glimpses ofunique and extraordinary beauty.Among woods of cork-trees and centennial oli-ves-dwelling of hares, squirrels and follow-deers you will be captured by incontaminatedviews while inebriated by the scent of the arbu-stus-trees.Gentle slopes, the sea and the lagoon are,among others, basic ingredients of this micro-climate which allows to play golf in every sea-son of the year.
The eighteen holes’ design is due to DavidMazzacane and Baldovino Dassù, with the con-tribution of the American Brian Jorgensen.The course is surprisingly varied, very deman-ding from a technical point of view andundoubtly spectacular.
The greens are beautiful, a gentle breeze alwaysblows to mitigate the heat and to add anothervariant to the game, requiring at the same timeaccuracy and power. All par-three holes are marvellous: two ofthem overlook the sea and the lagoon, one isplunged in the bush, one depends on winddirection, and the last is the most delicate holeof the course because of the water hazard ente-ring the green.
The grass cloaks are certified eco-bio-compati-ble. The Club House is both elegant and functional,providing all services plus a wonderfulterrace facing the course as well as the beachesof Talamone’Bay and the Park of Uccellina.

GOLF CLUB PUNTA ALAPunta Ala Golf Course was founded in thespring of 1964. Overlooking the sea, thissplendid 18 holes course is surrounded byan impressive array of trees outlining themany natural slopes. The total lenght is mt.6.168 ; Par 72 – (S.R. 140 / C.R. 73,8) -(S.R.137 /C.R. 73,9).
From every hole the panorama opens out tothe sea below (extraordinary is the view onecan enjoy from to tee of holes n. 1-5-7-8-12-17).
In the Club-house there is the good restau-rant with traditional Italian cooking andtypical dishes of the local Maremma cuisi-ne. At Punta Ala Golf Course it is possibleto play all year around and the Club organi-zes a lot of competitions, especially duringsummer period. There are also special sea-son-rates. The guest of hotels and residen-ces with a particular agreement have spe-cial prices.
Punta Ala is not only famous for golfing butalso for polo and sailing and it is a site ofimportant International events. Near PuntaAla there are historical and archaeologicalplaces of great interest such as the won-derful medieval village of Castiglione dellaPescaia , Massa Maritt ima , Vetulonia ,Populonia , the Uccellina Park . From thecoast can be easily reached the islands ofMontecristo , Giannutri and Elba , the grea-test and most important islands of theTuscan Archipelago.

TERME DI SATURNIA GOLF CLUBThe location of this area, few kilometresfrom the Tyrrhenian sea, will allow a 365days/year game, with the seasons giving tothe course always a different image.Terme di Saturnia golf course is a a resortcourse, placed in a quiet and mainly flatarea, in the middle of a valley surroundedby smooth olive and wild hills with the con-stant view on Saturnia’s ancient village.
The main aims of the project will be: ecolo-gical course and saving water.Both goals represent the more modern wayto make the course joining the landscape(without giving an artificial look) and to jointhe strong social demands concerning theuse of water.
An ecological and very well designed car-path all along the 18 holes will allow theuse of golf-carts in any kind of weathercondition.The respect of the existing streams whichare crossing the valley and the naturalbeauty of the trees and shrubs that takeadvantage from those, will make contrastwith the “Scottish” look of the course whereeach hole is separated from the others, dueto the big extension of the site, with largenatural out-roughs always respectful of thetrajectories of the most common wrongshots.Four tees, very well separated, and widegreens surfaces plenty of pin positions, willallow each player to choose between anEtruscan relaxing walk or a Gladiator fightalong the 18 holes.
The perfect location, at 2 minutes walkingdistance from the Hotel, which dominatesthe f inishing holes, will offer a perfectromantic atmosphere when, during the lastminutes of the sunset, the shadow of thehills are slowly covering the whole courseat his feet.

MAREMMELLO GOLF CLUBThe golf course: located in the heart ofthe Maremma, on the hills overlookingthe stretch of sea linking Porto SantoStefano to Talamone , the course ofMaremmello is a pleasant though attimes exacting one.
It is one of the most beautiful area inTuscany and the mild winter climate ofthe place allows it to remain open thewhole year through. The club has madea few changes in the course and one canplay from different tees.
Moreover, holes 4 and 5 have beenmodified and placed further away. Andto conclude, in front of the green of hole4 a new lake has been created next tothe one already existent.
