News and Opportunities

Events and Classes

Sunday Morning Classes Adult Sunday School Classes are held during the 9:15 worship hour. The Covenant Class led by Dean Armbrust meets at 9:15 in the Chapel. We will be studying the Acts of the Apostles. The Questions Class, led by Steven Graham, is studying a DVD ser ies “Sacred Journeys.” This class meets in the library. Children’s Sunday School and choir are held dur ing the 10:30 worship hour. Children are dismissed following the children’s sermon during the service. During the Week The Wednesday Morning Women's Bible Study meet in the chapel at 10:15 a.m. on Wednesdays. Contact Mary Mertz at [email protected] with questions.

Disciple Course: Becoming Disciples through Bible Study meets on Mondays from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in The Life room.

Men's Studies & Fellowship Second and fourth Mondays of the month at noon, Meadowlark Hills. Lunch is served.

First and Third Tuesdays of the month at 7:30 a.m., Meadowlark Hills. Coffee is served.

The Wednesday Evening Women’s Bible Study meets at 6:15 p.m. in the Chapel. We will use the study ‘Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World’ by Joanna Weaver. You can order a work book from Amazon.com. If you have any questions call Joan Mann 785-317-4648.

The Kids! Choir will be singing during the 10:30 worship service on March 31st and May 12th!

Volunteer Needed! “The Way” class, K-1, is looking for two volunteers to help out one or two Sundays a month. If interested, please contact Shiloh Vick at 785-313-8286 or the office at 785-537-0518.

Children, Youth, and Family

The bouquet of flowers on the communion table is in honor of Pat Hart-man. The ushers for the 9:15 worship service are Al Welch, Doug Tippin, Nancy Habluetzel, and Dave West. The ushers for the 10:30 worship service are Jim Schottler, Lyle Butler, Steven Graham, Mark Janssen, Peg Janssen, and Gene Moherman.

The greeter for the 9:15 worship service is Hunter and Rae Jean Hunt.

Greeters for the 10:30 worship service are Lee and Jackie Borck.

A Lenten Bible Study is being offered on Wednesdays at 6:15pm in the Chapel with Adam Hamilton’s ‘Simon Peter - Flawed But Faithful Disciple.’ The book is available to purchase on Amazon. Please contact Joan Mann at 785-317-4648 with any questions.

We have an upcoming Blood Drive next Sunday, March 17th, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Presby Place. You can sign up in the narthex on any Sunday before the drive, or online at www.redcrossblood.org. Photo ID or Red Cross Donor Card required. Our goal is 21 pints!

Welcome to Worship at First Presbyterian Church

During Today’s Worship For parents of young children: an excellent nursery and cry room are available. The nursery is on the lower level of the Children's Education wing and is available from 10:00-11:45 a.m. The cry room is located in the balcony. Please inquire of an usher.

During the time for Greeting and Announcements, please sign the pew information form, so the office may update any change in information and you can meet the people in your pew!

Personal hearing devices are available dur ing the service for those in need. Please inquire of an usher.

We invite you to stay for fellowship time following each of the services. Donuts and delicious Radina’s coffee are served in Fisher Hall after the 9:15 a.m. service and in the narthex after the 10:30 a.m. service. We would love the opportunity to meet you! We appreciate the generosity of Wade and Annette Radina who donate the coffee every Sunday.

Announcements

Lenten Lunches begin this Wednesday, March 13, in Presby place. Lunch will be served at 11:45 am followed by a 30 minute service at 12:15 pm. This week’s speaker is recently retired President and CEO of the Manhattan area Chamber of Commerce, Lyle Butler.

Got Kids? Hungry ones? After church? In between church and a soccer game? Well.....we have just the answer! Bring their shin guards and stay to eat...save yourself the rush home! The FOURTH SUNDAY of each month (dur ing the school year ) we will have lunch for our Presby kids and their families! Please stay after church and enjoy fellowship time with other families and a delicious meal prepared by Susan Schoneweis! Please RSVP to the office or on Facebook by noon the FRIDAY prior to the lunch day. Next RSVP day is March 22. Our family meal schedule for the year is as follows....
