March 2021 Our graduation committee has been meeting to plan for this year’s graduation on June 24, 2021, so we are reaching out to our community for support. Our graduates work extremely hard to prepare for a post-secondary education that has skyrocketed in cost. These students have had the added stress and accompanying disappointments of completing their school years during a global pandemic! Research tells us resilience in the face of stressful situa- tions and rapid changes determines whether you ultimately succeed or fail; it allows you to thrive even in tumultuous conditions, to turn potential disasters into growth opportunities. Our grads have definitely had the opportunity to develop resilience and we are so proud of their efforts and successes! It would be so wonderful to be able to recognize and encourage them as they move on from high school with a well-deserved prize. In the past, many firms, groups, societies and individuals have generously contributed mon- etary donations that have been be put towards Subject Prizes and Specialty Prizes and subse- quently used to recognize academics, student leadership, student involvement and volun- teerism. We would also love to continue to establish a number of larger special Prizes and/or annual awards. Prizes and awards in the amount of $1,000 or more will be formally presented on stage by a member of your organization or a designate assigned by the gradua- tion committee. There is a need for these prizes to be replenished and if your business or organization is at all interested in partnering with us, a member of the Graduation commit- tee, or Jim Donovan (school counsellor) would happily speak to you about any of these pos- sibilities to develop a prize and criteria that would be right for your company or organiza- tion. We would like to establish these new awards by April 30th, so that we are ready to award them at this year’s graduation. In order to prepare for graduation, we would also appreciate receiving all donations by May 31st. Please make cheque payable to Three Oaks Senior High School. A non-taxable receipt will be issued shortly after graduation, and recognition of your donation will be made on the graduation program. Donations received after this date may not appear on the program due to printing deadlines. Please address your envelope to Mr. Jeff Clow, Three Oaks Graduation Committee, 10 Ken Moore Avenue, Summerside, PE, C1N 4V9. Thank you for your support. March 2021

Our graduation committee has been meeting to plan for this year’s graduation on June 24,

2021, so we are reaching out to our community for support. Our graduates work extremely

hard to prepare for a post-secondary education that has skyrocketed in cost. These students

have had the added stress and accompanying disappointments of completing their school

years during a global pandemic! Research tells us resilience in the face of stressful situa-

tions and rapid changes determines whether you ultimately succeed or fail; it allows you to

thrive even in tumultuous conditions, to turn potential disasters into growth opportunities.

Our grads have definitely had the opportunity to develop resilience and we are so proud of

their efforts and successes! It would be so wonderful to be able to recognize and encourage

them as they move on from high school with a well-deserved prize.

In the past, many firms, groups, societies and individuals have generously contributed mon-

etary donations that have been be put towards Subject Prizes and Specialty Prizes and subse-

quently used to recognize academics, student leadership, student involvement and volun-

teerism. We would also love to continue to establish a number of larger special Prizes

and/or annual awards. Prizes and awards in the amount of $1,000 or more will be formally

presented on stage by a member of your organization or a designate assigned by the gradua-

tion committee. There is a need for these prizes to be replenished and if your business or

organization is at all interested in partnering with us, a member of the Graduation commit-

tee, or Jim Donovan (school counsellor) would happily speak to you about any of these pos-

sibilities to develop a prize and criteria that would be right for your company or organiza-

tion. We would like to establish these new awards by April 30th, so that we are ready to

award them at this year’s graduation.

In order to prepare for graduation, we would also appreciate receiving all donations by May

31st. Please make cheque payable to Three Oaks Senior High School. A non-taxable receipt

will be issued shortly after graduation, and recognition of your donation will be made on the

graduation program. Donations received after this date may not appear on the program due

to printing deadlines. Please address your envelope to Mr. Jeff Clow, Three Oaks Graduation

Graduation and Prom

This year’s graduation is going to look and feel significantly different from oth-

er Three Oaks Graduations due to the strict restrictions in place during the

global Covid-19 Pandemic. We know that this is a unique time and a traditional

full-scale graduation celebration is not possible; however, we are working hard

to put together a similar event as last year which received positive feedback

while adhering to the public health guidelines set forth by the Chief Medical

Officer of Health. We recognize that there are many unknowns, but one thing

we know for certain is that our graduates have worked tirelessly to make it to

the end of their schooling journey. We want to celebrate this accomplishment

now in a safe way. Students will receive their diplomas on June 24th beginning

at 9:00 am in small groups with guests (number TBD). The graduation will take

a significant amount of time and therefore will likely run from 9:00 am to 4:30

pm. Arrival time schedules and school access locations will be provided to

students in order to follow the guidelines maintaining limited numbers of peo-

ple in spaces. Following each student crossing the stage and receiving their

diplomas and awards, they will return gowns when they exit the building. Stu-

dents can borrow the graduation gowns for photos by providing a deposit of

$20 for the gown and returned on June 25th or June 28th between the hours

of 9-12 at the school. As we know from the past year information and re-

strictions change on a weekly basis. Keeping this in mind we will adjust our

plans as we move closer to June 24th.r to the date. Furthers details will be re-

leased to students and parents through SAS email, closer to the date. Prom

also will not be possible just like last year due to restrictions. Last year parents

took the lead in organizing a parade with the city and our graduates. Again this

year we would support any parents that want to take on this task. Please con-

tact the office if you’re interested in organizing the prom for 2021.

CARE OF SCHOOL PROPERTY

All students are expected to respect and to maintain the excellent condition of

our school facility, equipment and contents. Any student who willfully damages

school and/or student property will be responsible for replacement costs and

subject to disciplinary action. Failure to replace items damaged will result in loss

of extracurricular activities.

CARS

Students are permitted the privilege of bringing private cars to school. However,

driving without due care and attention in or around the main parking lot will not

be tolerated and will result in a loss of privileges. Students can park on the north

side of the school’s main parking lot only. Vehicles parked in staff zones or no

parking zones will be identified and license numbers reported to city police. Bus

and fire lanes must be clear of vehicles. The bus parking lots are out of bounds to

all vehicles except school buses (and bus driver vehicles) during the school day.
