Congratulations to our 2013 Golf Champions
Our Division One Pennant Team were once again crowned the best team in the Grampians Region by winning the title at Aradale. They defeated the Ararat Club by 20 shots. To top this off they have now achieved further glory in winning the Regional Title which covers the Wimmera, North Wimmera and North Central Associations. In a cliff hanger the Chalambar team got up by one shot. The boys now head to Barham on May 3rd, 4th & 5th to contest the State Pennant Championships. l am sure all members will wish them all the very best of luck.

Numbers are consistent around Chalambar Golf Club competitions, which is great to see! For example over the 3
rounds of Club Championships we had an average of 63 players playing, this can only mean that our golf course is in
great condition and people are enjoying playing the course. It's not until you travel to other courses and see how
lucky we are to have a great course and is a hidden gem in the bush.
Club championships have been run and won congratulations to all our winners including our 5 time club champ
Mick Harricks. The course was great and the greens nice and tricky.
Looking ahead we currently have 2 teams playing in the Ballarat pennant league, which we had round 1 last week,
with the division one team going down 4/3 and well done to the division 3 team winning 5/2. This continues until
the end of May good luck to all competing! We have a charity ambrose event coming up on the 28th of April raising
money to save the outdoor pool.
The monthly medallist for March was Lloyd Grice on a brilliant score of 78 - 20 - 58. A great way to start the club
championships and win the overall Nett for the clubbies.
Thats all for this month
See you on the fairways

Around the Grounds
The new tee signs have been endorsed by
the finance committee and ordered. We are
expecting delivery in the next 3 weeks.
The steel water tank at the rear of the clubhouse is being demolished
shortly. It will be good to see this eye-sore disappear.
The new nets in the practice cages have now been installed. Thanks
to Pete Dohnt & John Shaw for the installation work
The Grounds Committee have agreed to a medium term project of
renewing some of the paths around the course with concrete. The
topping we have been working with for some years is very
susceptible to damage even from small amounts of rain mainly due
to the slopes on the course. The project will be completed over 3-4
years with budget recommendations to be confirmed over the
coming months.
The first cut of rough has now reached the level set by the Match
Committee and will not be mown again until spring.
