The word that is trans-lated dwell comes from a Greek word that we get the word house or

home from. The word means to dwell in a house or to take up permanent residency in a house; to make that house your home or

your permanent address.

The Word of God is to take this kind of place in our lives. Jesus said, in John 8:21-32 (NKJV) that, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Noth-ing can change a person like the bible… I’ve seen people with life controlling issues set free, with hard hearts softened and set free, with hopeless situations

find hope and set free.

Secular universities all around the world have the second half of that verse printed in stone on university buildings: “The truth shall make you free.” But those same universities ignore the first part of the verse. Your own opin-ions and the opinions of others won’t set you free. Only the Bible will. Even when obeying the Bi-ble is hard and uncomfortable, it will set you free. The fundamental question we all face in life is this: What will be our authority? Will it be God’s Word or the world? Will it be what God says is true or public

opinion? We all have to decide.

The Bible tells us how you can be saved. It tells you that our life isn’t an accident. The Bible tells

you how to be forgiven.

It tells us how God can use us for good in the world. It tells us God’s ways and how to be

blessed in them.

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you…” Does the Word have this kind of place in your life? Does it really “dwell” in you? Does it feel at home and comfortable in our life? Or is the Word of God treated like a stranger that’s occasionally wel-

comed into our life as a visitor?

Let’s make time today for the Word of God to permanent resi-dency in our life? Throw open the door, roll out the red carpet, and welcome the Word of God as permanent resident, the final word in our heart. We as His dis-ciple want the Word to have a dwelling place in our heart, our mind, and our soul! So, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you…” That is His Word be the last

word.

The Last Word

As the Story Goes: a sales man-ager and two of his sales reps are walking to lunch one day when they come across an antique oil lamp. They rubbed it and a Genie appears, saying, "I'll

give each of you just one wish."

One rep is quick to speak up first. He says, "I want to be in the Baha-mas, driving a speedboat, without a care in the world." Poof! He's

gone.

The next rep speaks up. "I want to be fishing in a stream in the Colo-

rado Rockies." Poof! He's gone.

The genie turns to the sales man-ager and says, "Your turn." The manager says, "I want those two

back in the office after lunch."

It makes a difference who has the last word, doesn't it? The question is: who, or what, will have the last word in our life today? Will our choices today be driven by ambi-tion, desire, retribution, or mere whim? Or will the Word of God have the final say? Paul said in Colos-sians 3:16 (NIV), "Let the word of

Christ dwell richly within you…

Do you know what he's saying? He's saying let God's words have the final word in your life -- today, and everyday. So with that being said, it begs to ask, what kind of place does the Word of God have in our life? Does God’s word feel at home in our life, or does it feel more like a visitor or a stranger? Notice again that Paul says, “Let the

word of Christ dwell in you…”

Small Group is "Extraordinary"! That was the comment from one of the people that attend our small group. We are humbled and honored to be a part of a Small Group. One description I think of is not knowing really what you are missing until you actually try attending one for a few sessions. We just happen to be covering material on how to live an Extraordinary Life through recognizing God's authority! Small Group is just one more opportunity to learn about God's precepts and cultivate relationships. We have laughed together, we have shared together, and prayed together. Small groups are a terrific oppor-tunity to get to know people and share life's challenges and successes. We would welcome anyone who wants to come to join us! WOMEN’S MINISTRY

Abigail is a woman in the Bible that is a great example to woman in today’s culture. She found herself in a conflicted situation and chose to participate, rather than retreat and hope it would go away. Her husband Nabel (Meaning fool) was in conflict with the future King of Israel, David. They both were acting rashly, and Abigail intervened with wise counsel before any bloodshed happened. God turned her foolish husband over to his death. She was later recognized by David and became his wife.

Conflict rarely goes away on its own, it needs to be addressed with wisdom and clarity. We need to learn the proper and respectful way to advocate for what is right. It may even need to be negotiated as well. We know that we are His, because of salvation and the cross. We do have something to say and to share. We can make decisions that can change our future with a positive result, and may impact our future to a positive end as well as others.

Our “Women of the Bible” series is still going strong on Tuesday mornings at 9am and Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm. Come join us.

Also, please mark your calendars for our “Spring Women’s Mini Conference”, Saturday, April 27th. Our speaker will be Dr. Carol Alexander. Her and her husband are the new presidents at Trinity Bible College. She speaks

around the world to different women’s groups. You will be blessed by taking part. Bring a friend!

LIVE OUT LOUD: Book of Ephesians In the book of Ephesians Paul describes all that we have in our relationship with Christ. He describes how to walk and stand strong in this relationship. Many Christians live a defeated life, as they don’t fully understand their position in Christ. The Christian life is the most joyful life, a life where you have hope, a life where God makes the impossible possible, a life of comfort in the midst of sorrow, a life of strength when we are weak, and a life of purpose. Join us as we unleash the truth’s of Ephesians and learn to LIVE OUT LOUD

Starts: The First Wednesday in March.
