Albatroz Engenharia has participated in the Aerospace Week, which took place at Instituto Superior Técnico from the 20 to the 24 March and included workshops, company booth expositions, alumni talks and lectures. The objective was to promote the company among Aerospace Engineering students and increase their attraction for the area they have chosen to proceed the studies (which sometimes collapses after the first calculus and physics courses).

Eng. André Cardeira was the chosen one to represent the company, as he himself finished his MSc in Aerospace Engineering in the same faculty. The presentation was then arranged to share with students how their future work might look like, and at the same time, present Albatroz Engenharia as an aeronautical company with a Design Organisation Approval (DOA) by EASA.

As the course responsibles have many times declared in media and classes, the MSc in Aerospace Engineering is specially directed to produce skilled researchers and investigators, by other words, creatives. However, in the Aerospace field, nothing is created without firstly taking a deep look into the applicable regulations, otherwise the product may not be certified as airworthy. This aspect is not teached during the course, so the lecture was an attempt to make the students aware of this issue, particularly on the case of a DOA organisation.

In the end, the audience stayed with an insight into certification projects, from the require-ments, drawings, structural and electrical designs to the final documentation elaboration, mounting instructions and continued airworthiness. It was also detailed which are the main organisations involved in the whole process and which role plays each one of them. Also some examples of applications were presented and this all related to the main Albatroz Engenharia application, power line inspections.

Later, a visit to the office was organised for the interested students, where they had the opportunity to see examples of project documents, certified components, systems and understand a bit better all the process from the drawing sheet to the final power line inspecti-on report. This event was attended by 10 people.

On March 5th, the Lisbon City Council announced the initiative "LISBOA Robotics" as a component of the "Made of Lisboa" program. "LISBOA Robotics" aggregates universities, schools, research centers, companies and NGO to the Council in the effort to attract the best of world Robotics to Lisbon and to make it ha privileged scenario for innovative enterprises and events.

To begin with, "LISBOA Robotics" will unfold on four tracks:

1) Hot Spots, which are locations within the city where special conditions are met to perform robotic trials segregated from the population. Six spots have already been introduced, including a large water tank;

2) Collaboration sites where people could meet and work for limited time, for a project, a demonstration or the practice before an event (it's not meant to add to incubators, which are already available, but it could develop next to one);

3) Living Labs, contrary to the hot spots, in the Living Labs, robots will be sharing the city with people, interacting or rendering services to people, raising the awareness for robotics as well as the need for safety and ergonomics and, finally, a

4) Think-Tank that will reflect on the effects of mixing robots with societies, with a particular focus on social implications and the senescence of Lisbon inhabitants.

The initiative has been brewing for more than a year under the guidance of the City Council and Albatroz Engineering has participated in this effort from the beginning.

Mini Marathon Vodafone 2017

Walking on the 25 de Abril Bridge is a privilege which is reserved only once a year and for that reason Albatroz Engenharia decided to embark on other flights and join to the Mini Marathon Vodafone 2017.

thIt started 26 years ago, more precisely on 17 March 1991, the story of the half marathon was born. The Lisbon half marathon, with competitive ends, is the biggest athletic event in Portugal, at the same time it runs the mini marathon with ludic purposes. This year the Lisbon

thmini marathon took place on 19 March. As in previous years, the route had as ex-libris the passage of the 25 de Abril Bridge. Starting at Praça da Ponte 25 de Abril, the Albatroz Engenharia team traveled 7km to arrive at Mosteiro dos Jerónimos - Praça do Império.

The conviviality generated in this athletics competition moves people from different points of the country towards the adventure and in the last years, this competition conquered Portuguese and foreigners. This year more than 35,000 athletes, professionals and amateurs participated in this event, including 7,500 foreign participants.
