President’s Message
Hi Friends,
This message will be short, since you probably would rather
spend time with your fox trotter.
We had great weather at our May show so the horses and
competitors were very happy.
We love to see you out for our June show at Ridge Riders
arena in West Covina.
In the meantime, please enjoy your rides and please visit us
on Facebook if you would like to share your activities with
your fox trotters.
Now, I’m going outside to enjoy my horse Shelley. It’s
always an adventure with her.

May 7, 2016: Minutes
The Meeting was held at Marie Callendars Restaurant in Corona, and called to order by President Mitsy Marquez, @ 10:30 am. Members present were: Linda Dunn, Gail Courtney, Sally Richter, Sandy Grimes, Jeanine Blanchard, Pam Ellison, Rene Sharp, Jack Morck, Mitsy Marquez and Katie Watts. The minutes of the April meeting were read, Rene Made the motion to accept the minutes and Jack 2nd and the minutes were accepted
Treasurers Report: Rene presented the report. Sandy made the motion to accept the report, Jeannine 2nd and the report was unanimously accepted. The show and Clinic Financials were reviewed and expenses were reconciled with income. Committee Reports:
Hospitality: Rene reported that sandwiches, chips and drinks would be provided at the May show. Mitsy will provide coffee & donuts. Lunch options were discussed for future shows. Membership: Sally presented new members applications for: Caitlyn Swain, Patti Escarza and the Family Membership for Karen Smith. Rene made the motion to accept all the new members, Jack 2nd and the members were unanimously accepted. Newsletter: Jeannine continues to update the newsletter and website. Katie indicated she will add a history page for old items and pictures. Rene provided Jeannine with copies of past newsletters and their articles that can be included in newsletters. Promotions: Board members were encouraged to explore western dressage and other options to attract interest and new members. Trail Rides: Deferred Shows/Points/Awards: Regarding the May show: Sally presented trail pattern options. She and Pam will set up the trail course, and will need obstacles to include 12 poles, tarp and cones. Points & awards: Sandy discussed rules and inquired about changes. The rules cannot be changed once the show season has begun. However rule changes can be discussed at the end of the season for next season’s shows. The Board agreed that Linda will purchase Ribbons as needed for June and future shows. Old Business: T-shirt sales were discussed with styles and colors. The Board agreed to have Sandy continue to order t-shirts depending on demand.
New Business: Deferred Rene made the motion to adjourn, Jeannine 2nd, all were in favor and the meeting was adjourned @ 11:43 am.

OUR APRIL SHOW AND CLINIC WAS A GREAT SUCCESS !
Once again Donnie Daugherty did not let us down !! We had a great show with good weather.
Our clinic was presented at Carlyle E. Linder Equestrian Park, Home of ETI Corral 35, Glendora CA.
We saw many of our members and some new faces with lots of good questions and some wonderful horses
learning from Donnie Daugherty with his beautiful wife Monica and some help from Laura Clem as well.
The weather was warm with some light breezes and a great lunch was served as well.
Thank you all that made this happen and for your support.
We had a great time at the clinic with lots of beautiful horses getting some new ideas and lots of good training
tips.
We also got to see and hear about how we should be having our Farriers make sure our horses go down the
road safe and SOUND!

GAITED TRAIL RIDE…. We had a great time !!
We had a great Trail Ride led by Liz Levis it was a beautiful day and had lots of good friends and picnic under
the trees at the Wildlife Preserve Norco CA. Watch for our next trail ride. Come on out and have some fun!
