The Christian Fellowship Sunday School Class invites you to a Lenten Study led by Bishop Larry Goodpaster, March 8 through March 29. The class will meet in the Sanctuary at 9:30 a.m. All are welcome.

Lenten Sunday School SeriesEncounters with Jesus in John's Gospel

Led by Bishop Larry Goodpaster

Women of all ages are encouraged to participate in our UMW mini-retreat Sunday, March 8, from 3-5:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. Our speakers will be two marvelous and strong women, Dr. Beth LaRocca-Pitts and Lou Brown Jewell. Lou is a major leader in many charities throughout Atlanta and is a member of our church. You will definitely want to hear Lou and Dr. Beth lead us at the retreat. In addition, our music will be provided by Lynne and Ralph Crabtree. Lynne is an accomplished vocalist and Ralph will accompany her. This will be a wonderful afternoon of fellowship and fun together. The mini-retreat is a "don't miss" opportunity for us. The cost is $10.00, and the cost is waived for high school and college students. Register by calling the church (404-636-7558), signing up at the Portico Welcome Desk, or going online (ogumc.org). Nursery is provided by registration.

One of the ways that many people observe the season of Lent is by taking on a Lenten discipline. Often this discipline is giving up something we enjoy. This Lent we invite you to consider giving up something that costs money and donating that money to missions through our Lenten Offering. Even small amounts can really add up. For example, if you give up buying a $5.00 latte on the way to work each day you could accumulate $150 for missions. Our Lenten Offering funds mission ministries that meet the real needs of people.

To give to the Lenten Offering, please use the special Lenten offering envelope that was mailed or pick one up at church. Checks should be made payable to Oak Grove UMC and marked “Lenten Offering”. You can also give online (ogumc.org). Thank you for your generosity.

SHARE HOPE2020 LENTEN OFFERING

Giving Up Something for Lent? We love Oak Grove and want to support the ministries of the church with our financial gifts, and often we find ourselves in worship without cash or a check. Oak Grove has a new Giving Kiosk that simplifies investing in the work of God through our church. The Giving Kiosk will be located each Sunday at the welcome desk in the Portico. You can easily swipe a credit or debit card. This is the same system we use for Wednesday Midweek dinners and is simple to use. Whether you give at the kiosk, by using bill pay, the ShelbyNext app, or putting a check or cash in the offering plate, know that your gifts make a real difference in the lives of people and spread the good news of Christ in our community and beyond!

Dear Church Family, we thank you for all of your prayers, love, and support for us during our daughter-in-law, Teilynn's illness. Thank you for the many expressions of love to Dallas' family during this time. We love and appreciate all of you. – Louis and Dale Miller
