13th Annual

For the 13th year, Scottsdale, Arizona will host the annual SIF 2017. As in the past, we expect this Interventional Forum to provide attendees with a comprehensive, highly informative review of the exciting advances in cardiovascular and interventional therapies. The Planning Committee for this year’s symposium have committed themselves to creating the most complete, all-inclusive review of the latest advances in coronary and structural medicine.

Consistent with our tradition, SIF 2017 will utilize a world-class faculty blessed with a profound understanding of the pathophysiologic mechanics of disease as well as the most innovative treatment options for those patients afflicted with cardiovascular disease. This exceptional faculty is certain to provide a concentrated educational experience for attendees of all professional disciplines, including physicians, nurses and allied health professionals.

The educational means by which this is accomplished includes state-of-the-art didactic lectures, taped case vignettes and fascinating live case transmissions from leading centers throughout the country. Expert interventional cardiologists perform some of the most complex, thought provoking live cases with an equally impressive panel of experts providing commentary. For over a decade, this unique blend of talent as well as the robust agenda has been responsible for the continued growth and International acclaim that the Scottsdale Interventional Forum has achieved.

SIF 2017 will include workshops and special symposia covering a broad range of topics. Transcatheter therapies for structural heart disease have evolved rapidly. SIF 2017 will devote live satellite cases from leading centers throughout the country, as well as didactic sessions to important topics such as TAVR, transcatheter mitral valve therapies, left atrial therapeutic and renal denervation, just to name a few.

There has been a tremendous evolution in our ability to treat patients with the most complex coronary diseases. Patients not long ago considered to be “no-option” patients have now been offered unique therapeutic options. As such, a comprehensive review of percutaneous coronary revascularization options will be highlighted, including the treatment of left main and multivessel disease, complex CTOs and supported angioplasty with emphasis on left ventricular assist devices. The burgeoning field of new DES platforms has provided the interventional cardiologist with a number of treatment options for patient afflicted with coronary artery disease. An expert review of bioerodable and durable polymer metallic DES as well as bioresorbable vascular scaffolds will be highlighted during the live case sessions. Our attendees will have up close and personal access to the nation’s experts in the field of coronary intervention throughout the 4-day Forum.

The primary goal of SIF 2017 is to provide attendees the requisite skills to improve bedside management of complex cardiovascular disease and practically apply the newest, most innovative technologies in the treatment of cardiovascular disease. Our objective is to empower the clinician to improve patient care and procedural outcomes. The rich educational experience and open interaction with a world-class faculty is accomplished against the background of the beautiful desert southwest.

We look forward to seeing you in Scottsdale, Arizona at the 2017 Scottsdale Interventional Forum!

TARGET AUDIENCEThe 2017 Scottsdale Interventional Forum has been designed to meet the educational needs of Interventional and General Cardiologists, Vascular Surgeons, Interventional Radiologists, Cath Lab Nurses and Technicians and other medical professionals who have an interest in heart and vascular medicine.

OBJECTIVESUpon completion of this CME Activity, participants will be able to:

• Discuss the appropriate use and application of catheter based vs. surgical based revascularization in patients with complex coronary artery disease.

• Explain the application of high definition invasive coronary imaging as well as invasive functional testing for the diagnosis and management of complex coronary artery disease.

• Apply accepted algorithms for the treatment of complex coronary disease including multivessel and left main disease and chronic total occlusions.

• Discuss the indications, benefits and relative risk of radial-based vs. femoral-based coronary interventions.

• Interpret and understand the application of recent, relevant trials in coronary stent design, including bioresorbable vascular scaffolds, bioerodable and durable polymer metallic technology and other novel stent designs.

• Differentiate the distinction between the specific clinical feature of appropriate use criteria and the evidence-based summaries on which PCI guidelines are developed.

• Discuss and understand the role of surgical and transcatheter therapies for complex aortic valvular heart disease across the spectrum of patient risk models.

• Discuss and understand the role of mechanical and pharmacologic therapies for thromboembolic prophylaxis in patients with atrial fibrillation.

• Explain the emerging role and relative application of catheter based modalities for the treatment of patients with complex mitral valvular disease.
