IMPORTANT
Given the many two week closings due to the Coronavirus pandemic the executive board decided the safest thing to do for all club members is to cancel this month’s meetings. The Thorndale firehouse also strongly encouraged this. The board will handle any critical business via emails/phone calls and otherwise wants to remind everyone toreligiously practice good hygiene, social distancing (avoid crowed places, meetings, events, etc.), and seek treatment for any flu-like symptoms. Next month’s meetings are still currently planned, but the board will re-assess the situation then as well. Be safe. Be well.
PRESIDENT’S MESSAGEHere we are back to daylight savings time which means longer days and shorter nights. I’ve seen a few car shows advertised for March but April looks like the time things really kick in. I know I’m definitely looking forward to it.
Our car show on May 24th is my #1 priority right now though. A lot of preparation has already started as far as preliminary advertisement in the form of the cards we are giving out and various websites we are posting. I would just like to point out the importance of the volunteers needed for setup on Saturday the 23rd of May and for Sunday the day of the show. A signup sheet will be available at every meeting till then.
Just a little side note that I would like to pass along. I had the misfortune of contracting Influenza B the end of January and about half of February. I didn’t have to go in the hospital but I don’t believe I left my home for three or four weeks. Oh, and no visitors other than my wife. It was not a fun time at all. I lost fourteen pounds in the process. I have been on the mend for a few weeks now, feeling much much better and finally getting my weight back. The point I’m trying to make is, and I know you hear and see it on the news, but if you don’t feel well, see a doctor and do your best to avoid spreading whatever you might have. From one who has been through it, there were a few very frightening times in those weeks, one’s I won’t forget.
Be well through this flu season and be safe in your travels.
Bud Tarr President
COVER CAR – 1967 FORD RANCHERO
My grandfather, Earl Olmstead, bought this Ranchero on 9/12/1967 at West Chester Ford. Sticker price $3045.20. Options were 289 2V V8, C-4 Cruise-O-Matic trans, white wall tires, power steering, and am radio. He passed away 6 months later, and my grandmother, Myrtle, kept it till she passed in 1981. She did not drive. It was driven to the Poconos twice a year and used for errands and had 18k miles when my parents got it. It now has 51k. The 1967 Ranchero came in 3 trim levels. Fairlane, 500, and XL and is a 1 year only body style. There were 5300 built with this Engine/Trans code and 358 with this paint/ trim code. Approximately 17k total were built.

JUST FOR LAUGHSThanks go to Hugh Purnell Jr. for sending.
George Carlin had many questions. These sound like some he would ask.
Why do peanuts float in regular coke & sink in diet coke? Go ahead and try it.
I used to eat natural foods until I learned most people die of natural causes.
Can you cry under water?
How important does a person have to be before they are considered assassinated instead of just murdered?
Why do you have to "put your two cents in"... but it’s only a "penny for your thoughts"? Where's that extra penny going?
Once you're in heaven, do you get stuck wearing the clothes you were buried in for eternity?
What disease did cured ham actually have?
How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?
Why is it that people say they "slept like a baby" when babies wake up like every two hours?
If a deaf person has to go to court, is it still called a hearing?
Why are you IN a movie, but you’re ON TV?
Why do people pay to go up tall buildings and then put money in binoculars to look at things on the ground?
Why do doctors leave the room while you change? They're going to see you naked anyway.
Why is “bra" singular and "panties" plural?
Why do toasters always have a setting that burns the toast to a horrible crisp, which no decent human being would eat?
Can a hearse carrying a corpse drive in the carpool lane?
If the professor on Gilligan's Island can make a radio out of a coconut, why can’t he fix a hole in a boat?
If corn oil is made from corn, and vegetable oil is made from vegetables, what is baby oil made from?
If electricity comes from electrons, does morality come from morons?
Why do the Alphabet song and Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star have the same tune?
Why did you just try singing the two songs above?
Did you ever notice that when you blow in a dog's face, he gets mad at you, but when you take him for a car ride, he sticks his head out the window?
HOW DID THE MAN WHO MADE THE FIRST CLOCK, KNOW WHAT TIME IT WAS?
