Greetings Chapter Members, We kicked off 2018 with our February Luncheon, honoring our Past Presidents and featuring for the 2 nd time Ken Reeves, former NFL player, who provided great insight on living with purpose and fighting through adversity. It was wonderful to recognize our Past Presidents for their service as they have contributed to the success of the Dallas Chapter. Congratulations to our four new officers and five new directors who were installed as well. We had a fantastic turnout of 110 attendees! We are focused on having consistent networking opportunities with our New Designees, CPCU candidates, and Gamma Iota Sigma members through socials, educational opportunities, and chapter involvement. Our Social Media Team has been active using social media sites to keep members informed and have recently been testing live streaming through our member Facebook page. Our chapter is also looking into becoming active in the Mentoring program. I would like to thank all of our chapter leaders and volunteers for joining me to serve with a purpose. We have a great year of events planned. Be sure to take full advantage of all of them. For our March luncheon meeting, we welcome back guest speaker, Lindsay Nickle. She is a partner in the Dallas office of Lewis Brisbois. Lindsay will discuss Ethics in Cybersecurity . While the chapter does not have an April luncheon, members of the Dallas CPCU Society Leadership team will be attending the 2018 CPCU Leadership Summit in Baltimore in April 19-21. 2018 promises to be a year of creativity, development, and fun! I shared our new chapter’s theme at the February luncheon, “Serving With A Purpose”. Our chapter leaders and volunteers are working diligently to have more presence and impact in our community through Community Good Works. We are focused on having consistent networking opportunities with our New Designees, CPCU candidates, and Gamma Iota Sigma members through socials, educational opportunities, and chapter involvement. Please join us on Wednesday, March 21 at the The Clubs of Prestonwood -The Creek from 11:30am to 1:00pm. March is ethics Awareness month. The keynote speaker will be Lindsay Nickle who is an attorney and partner at in the Dal-las office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice. She will be discussing Ethics in Cybersecurity and sharing stories l ike ethical hacking; entrapping employees; how cyber laws aim to enforce ethical cyber behavior; the role of insurance protection to ensure ethical compliance, and answer questions how you can personally protect yourself.

Thursday March 29 — Luncheon Meeting

Back by popular demand! Last year's event was a total success! If you missed it last year, here's another chance to join us at Painting with a Twist in Richardson, Texas.

What’s Included? The event will kick off at 6:00pm so we will have an hour to eat and socialize before painting. The painting class is from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. We’ll have food on-site. This is BYOB, so feel free to bring wine if you’d like! The supplies, including easels, canvases, aprons, paint, plates, cups, napkins, eating utensils, cork screws, bottle openers, and ice buckets, will be provided by Painting with a Twist. The picture painted will be "Dawn at the Docks".

Dallas Chapter on Community Good Works (CGW)

The CPCU Society Dallas Chapter has been working on self-improvement for 2018 by re-introducing Community Good Works. The main focus of the committee is to show our CPCU members at work in the community. Not only will the committee offer both physical and virtual opportunities for community service, but it will also acknowledge the community engagements of CPCU – Dallas Chapter members already active in the community. The first and

recent service event involves a local organization, The Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County (CACCC). To find out more about the committee’s effort as well as their The Birthday Box initiative, click here.

The Dallas Chapter will host 2018 All Industry Day on August 28 from 8:00am to 4:00pm. Our theme will be Land of Technology: "Trends and Innovations".

Highlights from February Luncheon Meeting

Kenneth Reeves, a former NFL player for Philadelphia Eagles and Cleveland Browns, and current HR exec-utive with Freese & Nichols, joined us in February to share his expertise at building relationships and provided great insight on living on purpose and fighting through adversity.
