INDIGENOUS CAMPUS PROGRAM
On February 15, 2018, six of our George Fitton Grade 8 students were able to travel to ACC and Brandon University to take part in the Indigenous Campus Program. The program is intended to inspire indigenous youth to continue with their education in middle and high school , and be successful students, who then become post-secondary students. Presenters were Indigenous role models who have succeeded, including current students, alumni from ACC and BU, highlighting how they maintained their cultural
identity. The program encourages the students to envision themselves on campus at ACC and BU.
The students enjoyed their day and many discussions surrounding their future goals took place!
REMINDER: If your child is participating in the Breakfast Program - the breakfast program runs from 8:15-8:50 am - students should not be arriving before this time.
