March Madness ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
March brings us a hint of Spring, St. Patrick’s Day and NCAA’s March Madness and it can be hard to pull ourselves away from the TV! No one wants to miss the Cinderella stories or the buzzer beater for the upset, but instead of just being a spectator of the Big Dance, why not be a participant!
Before you sit down to watch the games, grab your kids, family, or friends to shoot some hoops and get into the spirit.
Take a break between games and go for a brisk walk, jog or bike ride.
Is there a game on that you just don’t want to miss? Record it and watch it later! Use the sunlight to enjoy the outdoors and then watch the game when it gets dark.
It's easy to get the recommended amount of physical activity and not miss a buzzer!

March Harvest of the Month - Cabbage •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Produce Tips
Choose firm cabbage heads that feel heavy and are tightly-packed.
Store whole or chopped cabbage in a sealed plastic bag in the refrigerator. Use within one week.
Before use, rinse cabbage thoroughly and remove tough outer leaves. Cut in half and trim core.
Healthy Serving Ideas
Make a “rainbow coleslaw” by using a mix of green and red cabbage. (See recipe.)
Boil or steam cabbages to use in stews, soups, and casseroles.
Provide raw, crunchy fruits and vegetables as snacks for your child.
Rainbow Coleslaw
Makes 12 servings.
½ cup per serving.
Prep time: 15 minutes
Ingredients:
2 cups thinly sliced red cabbage
2 cups thinly sliced green cabbage

1 tablespoon red wine vinegar

½ cup low-fat cheddar cheese, cubed
Directions:
