President’s Message Well, our spring/summer weather seems to have taken a
major dip. Are we spoiled or what? I love this Arizona
weather.
The Huachuca Art Association’s annual scholarship is now open. The amount awarded for 2016 is $1,500.00. Appli-
cation deadline is April 28, 2016. Please go to the HAA website to download application and review entry require-
ments.
We are progressing well on the Paseo San Luis building. Working on the floors, lighting, dropped ceiling, exterior color and awnings. The building committee, working under
Phil Micheau’s guidance has been quite busy, taking everything submitted into consideration.
We are seeking help in packing up all the material items, ie: books, magazines, etc. at the Astro location. We need about 5-10 people to help pack up the books etc. to ready the move. Please contact Phil Micheau or myself if you
could help. We could really use your assistance. You will
find our phone numbers and e-mail addresses in the Artyfacts HAA Board members and staff.
Artwork currently on display at the Astro Gallery location
needs to be removed. Each artist on display is responsible for removal of their own work. The deadline is Friday, March
11.
There will be no programs at the Astro Gallery location after March 11. No dining with the artists, seminars or demos until
we get settled into our new digs on Paseo San Luis.

Also please get your thinking caps on and submit your
suggestions on a name of our new Gallery. Could be
just ‘The Gallery’ by
Huachuca Art Association as a potential name. If you
send an e-mail [email protected],
please put something into
the subject line, otherwise it goes to junk mail. I won’t open it unless I know it’s legitimate, so please submit your suggestions so they can be considered.
Calling would be another way to contact any member of the board, as the phone numbers are listed in the Arty facts. While you’re considering a Gallery
name, please consider exterior colors of the building. We’re artists and I’m
sure there will be some wild concoctions of color suggested. I suggested a yellow/orange for the brightness with purple awnings. There was also a
building in Tucson we noticed last month on our tour, which was totally Pur-ple, with white trim. Something that will pop and grab attention with some
contrast here and there.
We also are asking for additional donations to our building fund. Keep in mind that we are a non-profit and your donation is tax deductible. Thank you
for all your previous donations.
