Southern Gospel Music Died In 2015Faye Speer (The Speer Family) on October 13th at the age of 86.LaBreeska Hemphill (The Hemphills) on December 9th at the age of 75.Ken O'Shields (Promoter in North Carolina) on December 19th at the age of 72.Meadowlark Lemon (Meadowlark Lemon Ministries) on December 27th at the age of 83.

The First Featured Group Of The MonthThe first feature group of the month is His Call. His Call started back in 1971 as The Heavenly Highway Singers. Their baritone, Dennis Caudill, and his family started the group. There have been several personnel and name changes through the years, but the group is now made up of Dennis Caudill(Baritone), Jimmy Duty (Lead), Gary Bower (Bass), and Renate Duty (Tenor). They have been singing together since September of 2005. Bruce Bower runs their sound and is the newest member of the group. His Call's desire is to present the message of Christ to the unsaved and to be an encouragement to the believers. Their website is www.hiscallministries.com.

The Second Featured Group Of The MonthThe second featured group of the month is New Day. “When I Can't Even Dream – God's Already Planned!” The words of that song effortlessly describe New Day, a Texas based trio consisting of husband and wife trams Bob & Pam Reeves and Jim & Kelly Matthews. The histories of each vocalist are strikingly similar and have much in common. After discovering the couples had very similar stories over dinner one evening, the couples formed an immediate bond and came to realize that God was using this precious friendship to heal past hurts and re-establish in their hearts the truth that loving eachother really matters to Him. In 2006, the group New Day was formed with Pam, Bob, and Kelly all taking on vocal duties, while Jim took over sound engineer responsibilities. Their website is www.newdayministriesonline.com.
