ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF COUNTRY

The McGowan Government is a proud sponsor of Channel 7 Mandurah Crab Fest through Tourism WA’s Regional Events Program.

The program supports medium to large regional events across the State to boost tourism, increase community vibrancy and participation, and develop regional areas.

The Regional Events Program plays an important role in positioning Western Australia as an exciting destination to visit and a great place to live by showcasing and promoting a region’s unique and diverse attractions.

Tourism is a key part of the Government’s plan to diversify the economy, create jobs and develop business opportunities, especially in regional Western Australia.

Events play an important role in this plan with the Government sponsoring a range of sporting, cultural, arts and culinary events across the State, through Tourism WA, to attract more visitors, encourage them to stay longer, disperse further and do more while they are here.

Hello and welcome to the 22nd annual Channel 7 Mandurah Crab Fest, Mandurah’s award-winning event, which showcases everything that is great about our city, and everything we’re proud of.

With its huge range of experiences for all to enjoy - from delicious food and cooking demonstrations, to show-stopping entertainment and activities for the whole family – Crab Fest is truly a highlight of WA’s event calendar all set on the backdrop of our beautiful waterways.

Having recently been inducted into the WA Tourism Awards’ Hall of Fame, Crab Fest has proven time and time again to be a much-loved event not only for our community, but for visitors from around the country and even the world.

We hope you have a fantastic Crab Fest experience. Take the time to relax alfresco-style, enjoy the local produce from around the Peel Region and soak up Mandurah’s enviable lifestyle. You’re going to love it.

EMMA BLYTHMy favourite time of the year in Mandurah! Our annual Crab Fest is a great time to visit and sample some delicious crab dishes, awesome music and entertainment.My artwork for this year’s Crab Fest revolves around our beautiful Mandjar Bay. There is a real community connection to it and it really is the heart of Mandurah. I love creating an artwork for the event to showcase our beautiful city and of course our good old blue manna crab.I have raised over $22,000 over the years through the Crab Fest artworks. The money raised last year went directly to Mandurah Primary School. It is an awesome experience to be able to donate locally and to see firsthand how it helps at the school.Another exciting part of Crab Fest is being able to set up a pop-up gallery on the foreshore. Come and say hi! I would love to see you there!

GETTING THERETravelling to Crab Fest couldn’t be easier.

Here’s a few ways you can get there:

TRAIN | a FREE shuttle bus will pick you up from the Mandurah train station and bring you straight to the event. Easy!

CAR | Plenty of charity parking is available at the event for $5.

BIKE | Ride to Crab Fest and park your bike securely for FREE. Look out for the on the map.

PETE EVANS CULINARY AMBASSADOR

Pete is the 2020 Crab Fest Culinary Ambassador, and can be seen over the weekend on the Coles Buy West Eat Best Cooking Stage and at the Channel 7 activation.

As an internationally renowned chef, entrepreneur, author and documentary producer, the co-host and judge of My Kitchen Rules will be drawing on his passion for fresh food and ingredients at the event.

SAM FROST Popular Home & Away star, Sam Frost, comes to Crab Fest for the first time.

ROB KIPA-WILLIAMS Rob will bring his fun and charisma to the Coles Buy West Eat Best Cooking Stage.
