death and brought to new life by Jesus.
God has great mercy and deep love for us.
Out of this love, God sent His son, Jesus, to
redeem us by His blood, offering us the hope
of eternal life. Our rescue from sin and
death is sheer grace. This great gift from
God merits a response of gratitude and a life
of faith and good works.

ST. CECELIA MUSIC
This school year we have been
blessed to introduce students to
our Music Lab. Through the
generosity of many we were able
to purchase 30 keyboards and
stands to enhance our Music
classes. All students in grades Pre-K3
through 8th grade have had an introduction
to keyboarding this year. The students
excitement and enthusiasm has been
wonderful!
In our group classes we have begun our
studies into the Alfred Basic Piano Series
(Technique and Theory). We have also
explored the keyboards using Discovery
Week – students were able to free explore the
keys, Scavenger Hunt – students were given
a list of specific keyboard parts to locate and
identify, and finally Identify The C –
locating middle C position and regular C
position.
Students have really done a wonderful job in
utilizing various pieces of music that
reinforce all of the skills we have learned.
You are always invited to join us on
Thursday mornings for our All School
Liturgy and hear the beautiful voices of our
children’s choir. We also extended an
invitation for you to see our drama troupe in
action as they perform The King and I in
May.
Thank you for your continued support…

CRACKER COUNTRY
Second grade went on a
field trip to Cracker
Country where they
experienced Florida
living in the 1890s. The
children made candles, washed clothes,
churned butter, made a rope, went to
school, visited a blacksmith, and took care
of a garden. It was a fun and educational
day.
A Note our Wellness Committee
This year through our School Advisory Council (SAC) a new Wellness Committee was formed. This committee is working to develop a Wellness Plan
for our school that encompasses nutrition, physical activity and mind/spirit. We have been in conversation with our food services/lunch provider, Mr.
Jim Walters, of JWFoods, to implement some minor changes in the selections being offered in the cafeteria to our students and staff.
The committee spent time researching our cafeteria trends, as well as, other schools’ cafeteria options and we will pilot new selections through the end
of the year. As of March 23rd JWFoods will be serving one healthy entrée meal choice for students in grades 1-5; no a-la-carte will
be available for grades 1-5. Grades 6-8 will still have a-la-carte choices, which include grilled chicken sandwiches and burgers, as
well as, the main entrée meal. Fruit and salads will be available daily as an a-la-carte choice.
All students will still have the opportunity to purchase a drink if needed.
We look forward to providing a variety of appetizing and nutritious meals in the most cost effective manner.

A NOTE FROM OFFICER FRIENDLY
Dear Parents;
Please do not park your car on the right side
of the Middle School entrance from Court
Street. This is not a designated parking spot
and it is making it very difficult for others to
turn into the entrance.
Thank you and God bless

Families for Families—(F4F) Group Mission
Families for Families is an ad hoc committee formed in 2011, devoted to helping members of our St. Cecelia’s School community in need. We help to
provide non-financial support for community members in crisis, while trying to protect their anonymity to the level at which they are comfortable.
Who Composes the Committee?
The committee is composed of St. Cecelia’s School student and faculty families who have volunteered to assist families in crisis with day to day tasks in
their time of need.
Why the Anonymity?
We all need help during difficult times, yet asking for help can be very challenging. F4F is designed to offer help to families, without either the recipi-
ents or the donors being made public. This attempts to eliminate feelings of indebtedness by the recipients. Also, many prefer to provide assistance
without acknowledgment or recognition. Because of the anonymous nature of the program and in keeping with the spirit of Christian charity, no
volunteer hours are granted for participation.
How Do Families Get Assistance from F4F?
There are several ways for St. Cecelia’s Families in
crisis to receive assistance from F4F: Contact F4F directly Request F4F assistance through faculty or
administration F4F assistance can be offered to families iden-
tified as having a need by faculty or admin-istration
What Services are Offered to Recipient Families? Meal preparation Child Care (group care or specific child care
for the recipient family ) Grocery shopping or errand running Child transport Light household chores Other services can be considered upon re-
quest
