Dear Pleasant Run Families: It is hard to believe that we are 1 week away from Spring Break. Please remember that our last day will be March 17th. We will continue our weekly newsletter, after Spring Break. Our 3rd grade students will be taking the IREAD 3 test next week. Please find our schedule below:

Please remember, round 2 of ISTEP begins on April 17 (so just TWO WEEKS after spring break). Traditionally, this portion of the test accounts for about 70-75% of a student’s overall score, therefore, preparation for this part of the test is extremely important. Stay tuned for additional information.

Recently the district has purchased new buses that are equipped with seat belts. These are required to be worn by students at all times. The district will continue to add new buses to their fleet over the next few years.

Finally, our new PTA board will be holding their open meeting on Thursday, April 6th. This meeting will begin at 5:45 PM, prior to our ST Family Math Night. They will be approving the 16/17 budget and will be discussing elections for the 17/18 school year. We hope you can be there to join us.

Kindergarten & Preschool Roundup 2017-18

Warren Township will host an open enrollment night

for new kindergarten students on Monday, April

10, from 5:30-7:00 P.M. at each elementary

school. To be considered for kindergarten, students

must be five years old on or before August 31st. Please

contact your child’s school for more Kindergarten

Roundup information!

The Warren Early Childhood Center will host Pre-

school Roundup during the day from 8:00-4:00.

Students are eligible for preschool as soon as they

turn three, and registrations are accepted throughout

the year. Please contact the Warren Early Childhood

Center at 869-4750 for more preschool information!

LUNCH DURING SPRING BREAK: Join us for a free lunch during spring intersession! Free hot meals are available to children 18 years and younger at Pleasant Run, Brookview, and Lakeside El-ementary Schools from 11 AM-1 PM Monday thru Friday March 20-31st. Meals must be eaten on-site. Adults may purchase a meal for $3. Contact Corie Mitchell, Assistant Director at [email protected] with questions.

Attention Parents: We welcome all parents

to come and eat lunch with their children at

school. However, other students are NOT

We are in real need of gently

used uniforms for students. If

you have some that your child

has outgrown we would really

appreciate you sending them to

us….especially smaller sizes.

In the 2017– 2018 school year, Pleasant Run Elementary is starting a Dual Language Immersion Program in Kindergarten. Students

in this program will learn school subjects through both English and Spanish. The goal will be to develop academic and social skills in

two languages.

The school will contact you about an informational parent meeting coming up soon.

Familias de Pleasant Run Es difícil de creer que estamos a solo 1 semana de las vacaciones de primavera marzo 17. Continuaremos con los boletines informativos en cuanto regresemos de vacacio-nes. Nuestros estudiantes de tercer grado tomaran el examen IREAD 3 la próxima sema-na. Aquí esta nuestro horario:

Miércoles: Sección 3

Jueves: Examen extraordinario

Recuérde que la segunda parte del examine ISTEP comienza el 17 de abril (dos semanas después de las vacaciones de primavera). Tradicionalmente, esa segunda parte cuenta como 70-75% de la nota del estudiante. Por lo tanto, la preparación para esa parte del examen es de extrema importancia. Espere más informacion.

Recientemente, el condado de Warren compró nuevos autobuses equipados con cinturón de seguridad. Es necesario que los estudiantes lo usen diariamente. El condado continuara comprando nuevos autobuses en el paso de los próximos años..

Finalmente, nuestro nuevo comité del PTA dará una junta el jueves, 6 de abril. La junta comenzará a las 5:45 PM, antes de la Noche de las Matemáticas con la Familia. Ellas van a aprobar los presupuestos para el año de 2017/1018 y discutir los nuevos miembros del PTA. Contamos con su presencia.

Matriculas abiertas para pre-escuela y Kínder 2017-18

El Lunes día 10 de abril, de las 5:30 de la tarde a las 7

de la noche, el Condado de Warren va a abrir las

inscripciones para nuevos estudiantes de kínder en

todas las escuelas primarias. Para entrar en kínder,

los niños deben tener 5 años completos antes de 31

de agosto. Favor contactar la escuela de su niño para

más informacion acerca de matrículas de kínder!

El Centro de Warren (Warren Early Childhood

Center) estará abierto para matrículas de pre escuela

durante el día de las 8:00-4:00. Los niños están

aptos a la pre escuela si cumplieron 3 años y también

durante el año puede ser matriculados. Favor

ALMUERZO DURANTE LAS VACACIONES DE PRIMAVERA: Únete a nosotros durante las vacaciones de primavera para disfrutar de comida gratis!
