Chair YogaThe great thing with yoga is that it can be adapted to suit anyone’s needs. The aim is to work with your body rather than against it. For those who can’t get on the floor to do a traditional mat yoga class, chair yoga offers wonderful health benefits: improved strength, improved flexibility, improved proprioception, reduced stress and improved mental clarity, opportunities to meet people and socialize, improved stress and pain management.

Coordinator’s Corner
Close your eyes and let your mind wander for a few minutes - What did you think of? I thought of the coming warmer months, the scent of freshly cut grass or the first spring rain. It wasn’t easy after the snow storm we experienced in early February but the Sun is shining as I am writing this and I couldn’t help but think forward!
4-H Looking For Senior Pen Pals! Did you know that Berkley has a 4-H club? 4-H empowers young people with the skills to lead for a lifetime. The kids in the group are looking for pen pals and have looked to me to find some for them. If you are interested in exchanging letters with a member of the 4-H group please let me know. The group is very excited about this project and we need a few more people to make it happen.
AARP Tax Preperation Going On Now! AARP is back this year doing tax returns for seniors in need. Every Thursday until April 12, the volunteers will be at the Berkley Community Center preparing and sending tax returns. The doors open at 8:30 am and this is a first come, first serve program. If you are coming from the Oxford Park Towers and need a ride over, call and schedule transportation and we will get you taken care of.
Looking for trip and lunch ideas! Have you been to a good restaurant lately? Where should we go on our next trip? I have said from the very beginning that I want to plan trips to places that you want to go! With that being said, if you have any ideas on where we should go to lunch or an outing please let me know. I will certainly do my best to get something planned if it is possible.
