TENEBRAE- An Order of Holy CommunionA solemn observance of the Lords Supper, known as Tenebrae(which means darkness) was first celebrated in the 4th c. AD.

In this service, 7 candles (# for ancient Passover) are graduallyextinguished, symbolizing the flight and denial of the disciples andfriends of Jesus at the last. An 8th candle (Paschal Candle that welit on Christmas Eve) symbolizes Christs eternal life, and remainslighted throughout this service, for the Light of Christ can neverreally be extinguished! In that light, we continue to find our forgiveness, and fellowship inHoly Communion with our personal Lord and Savior!Prelude: Midnight in the Garden BirchwoodCall to Worship: Isaiah 53: 1-8 (Pastor)

Lead us once more to your Table, andonce more unite us to Christ, who is the Bread of Lifeand the Vine of Salvation from which we grow in graceand faith. Hear us now as we confess silently

As well, Presbyterians have alsomade commitments to continue being involved in thereconstruction long after other groups have subsided.

Tonights Offering will again go through our West JerseyPresbytery to aid these efforts within the bounds of ourPresbytery, especially in the Atlantic City area churches, manses, and schools. Please continue to support these effortswith your donations, and your prayers. Thank You.
