While volunteer-based tutor/mentor programs need financial support
throughout the year, donors step up their giving during the year-end holidays.
Using maps we hope to encourage donor support of programs in all high
poverty neighborhoods, not just for the best known programs.

Every green star on this Chicago area map is an organization offering some
form of tutoring/mentoring. They all need a constant source of operating dollars
in order to grow into great programs, able to support long-term youth and
volunteer involvement. See http://www.tutormentorprogramlocator.net

Tutor/Mentor Institute, LLC is not a 501-c-3 non profit. Yet without financial
support from a wide range of people who share our same commitment, we
cannot keep the Program Locator on line, or update it with current
demographics and data on schools, assets, government boundaries, etc.

Become a partner, investor, supporter, volunteer!
The Tutor/Mentor Connection (T/MC) was launched in 1993 and has depended on volunteers and occasional donors to build this map capacity and its other services. In July 2011 the Tutor/Mentor Institute, LLC was created to support the continued operations of the T/MC in Chicago and to help similar intermediary organizations grow in other cities.
We offer “naming rights” to a benefactor/sponsor who will invest to help us develop thiscapacity and make it available in more places. At the same time we offer consulting and coaching to help local groups create their own maps, using this service, to draw resources to programs operating in different high poverty neighborhoods of Chicago. Please help us find volunteers, sponsors and partners who will enable us to do this work.
